  1. Huh....they released a Brian Jonestown Massacre single in 2003! http://www.discogs.com/Brian-Jonestown-Massacre-Prozac-Vs-Heroin/release/2035162 the forthcoming Unwound reissues are unexpected, but welcome.
  2. Lots of snow but plenty of power is a good combo. Enjoying this one.
  3. this. the cd is never gonna come back.
  4. Shug, awesome post. i highly recommend trying to find the BBC special on the making of Quadrophenia...i DVR'd it a few months ago and watched in about 4 weeks ago. really great stuff going on there. quadrophenia will always be my favorite Who record for a lot of the same reasons you voiced. and damned if the end of "Cut My Hair" won't always raise a lump in my throat. music can summon such strong emotions, and Pete hit the motherlode on that one.
  5. i dunno, there have have been some good titles...that reggae 3x10" box ruled, and i enjoyed some key reissues (UT, Sonic Youth, Ozzy, etc). but yeah, i end up spending more $ on stuff i never listen to more than once.
  6. me too...and i already owned two of those singles...
  7. it was limited...but at that price, demand was even more limited...
  8. isn't Malkmus still living in Germany? a solo SM show would rule, though. i like some of yr other choices as well (Tinariwen seems definitely possible, as does Debo Band). i wanna see Ty Segall added. Kurt Vile would work nicely too. and please please please Giant Sand! it's been over a decade since Howe's played near me.
  9. is it just me, or does anyone first think of PJ Harvey when Pearl Jam is abbreviated as PJ?
  10. any leads on lodging? i am all set but a friend from NYC is having zero luck finding anything that is not camping
  11. this record smokes...highly recommended if you like 60s psych stuff with some good hooks. features Isaiah Mitchell of Earthless (so you know there's good shreddage).
  12. i like the Wilbur better than Berklee...you are closer to the stage. Berklee's got a strange layout. given the Maine show, sounds like The Wilbur would be the perfect fit.
  13. you would probably wanna check this out then: http://www.nyctaper.com/2013/01/hospitality-january-10-2013-bowery-ballroom-flacmp3streaming/
  14. do you think he could draw enough people for the Wilbur? or maybe The Sinclair would be cool (just judging from what friends have told me...i haven't been there yet).
  15. this was spectacular http://www.avclub.com/articles/stephen-colbert-makes-morrissey-uncomfortable,86497/
