  2. and how would 5% make the libertarian party somehow relevant? does anyone remember the lasting effect of Ross Perot's 19% vote totals in 92? because I don't.
  3. a friend of mine had a ticket to see Arcade Fire when they played TTs but he blew it off. i think the first time i saw the Pixies was at the Paradise w/ Throwing Muses as well, but maybe not?
  4. earliest I saw REM was spring of '85, on the Fables of the Preconstruction tour. Spring weekend blowout at college. fun times.
  5. i have no idea what point you are trying to make, but if you are still trying to pretend that Trump has some sort of mandate, keep trying.
  6. i missed Hozier's set at Newport in 2014, on the small stage. oh yeah, i saw Jason Isbell a couple of times in 2007, once opening for Son Volt and once headlining at TT's. Justin Townes Earle was on that bill too.
  7. unfortunately no. i started in 2006. there are a lot of shows that i wished i'd had a camera with me. have you seen this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6nGA8A_iV4 btw, i'll trade my Phish show for your Sabbath show.
  8. oh yeah i saw Phish at the infamous Paradise show in 89, when they rented the club themselves since no one would book them.
  9. i saw Smashing Pumpkins at TTs, just after Gish came out. hmmm... who else? I saw The National at the Middle East in 07. Also saw Pavement at the Middle East, on their second East Coast tour, before S&E came out. Saw The Flaming Lips at TTs when Ron Jones was still in the band, '95 or so. it was on the Hit To Death tour. does seeing Deep Wound (pre-Dinosaur Jr band w/ J and Lou) count? oh, another one... I saw Mastodon open for Neurosis in 2007.
  10. reverse Super Bowl. and again... coaching decisions. why not just give the ball to Blount 4 times if needed?
  11. i think you are doing a pretty job of either talking past people, or misinterpreting things... as stated above, i don't believe anyone said that you needed a safe space. and as for the Trump signs, check out ditty's post... that's what was referenced. yeah, people are upset and a small minority is doing stupid stuff. does mean that the overall mood of left-leaning people is to be dismissed? i don't think so. lemme guess... your favorite Wilco song is not "Ashes of American Flags."
  12. yeah it looked like a good show. i am not a fan of the new record but she's got some great tunes and a great band. next time. Saturday is the BRMC show at house of blues... not sure who Joy Koy is but i won't be there!
  13. Leonard Cohen (admittedly I don't know much from him... only had a copy of Songs of Love and Hate) Avalanche Hallelujah So Long Marianne Famous Blue Raincoat Chelsea Hotel #2
  14. well i am sure you figured it out but i stayed home. how was it? i'll be seeing BRMC on saturday, and getting paid to shoot a comedian at the Wilbur on Sunday. i could use some laughs.
  15. i would never advocate for a Trump assassination. Pence actually scares me more.
  16. if i do make it, i'll raise a toast to the restorative power of rock and roll with you.
  17. that was on my calendar, but i am not sure i've got the energy to make it.
  18. Maybe Samosa Man will set up an adjunct tent.
  19. well he's certainly not wasting any time: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/trump-picks-top-climate-skeptic-to-lead-epa-transition/
