i saw him once and the same thing... 2.5 or so hours, and the sole bottle of Poland Springs at the foot of his stool went uncapped. I love his storytelling. too bad the show here is sold out.

Steve Albini gets up close and personal last night. Man was Shellac so fucking great!

Shellac! Albini rules.

i am not doubting you. all that says is that the RnRHoF is as big a steaming coil as we all figured it was. but hey, Can isn't recognized but Green Day is. yeah, that makes sense.

there are tons of great bands from Germany, Japan and Scandinavia who i don't ever expect to see in the HoF, esp if someone like the Smiths can't get in. so fuck those guys. i took your statement as answering the question of What Is Rock and Roll? which is a ridiculous answer, if you think rock music needs to be sung in English. and this board is seriously in need of a Kraftwerk primer.

Phil Lynott has the worst, best lyrics ever. -
I asked Jeff that at the press conference they held the first two years. He basically said it's up to Jim.

it's not my problem if people have shit tastes and can't recognize true pioneers. then again, they might have heard a Coldplay song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH9meoWmAOM

yeah i had fun, and they sounded great. a bit heavy on stuff i'm not too familiar with (esp Songs From Northern Britain), and i could have gone for Alcoholiday or Neil Jung, but very minor complaints. i love the understated Scottish wit too.

how fucking great is this song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3tCP2L62IM

Phil Collins digs corpsepaint too. Heard he's a big Gorgoroth fan.

yes. including my brand new Canon 5D4... 4.5 years was a lot of time w/ one camera body, but the price stopped me from updating both.

are there people who go to SSF for only one night? Seems weird to me. and i am surprised at the number of people who are not impressed with "Color Me Impressed." granted it's not my fave Replacements song either but it's no "Gary's Got A Boner" or "Shooting Dirty Pool." And Tommy Stinson played on it!

see you there!

Wilco Recommends (Spotify playlist)

pretty sure that Jim Elkington of Tweedy band played in Steve's band the last time i saw him. I've seen Steve play as a Violator as well, backing Kurt Vile. good player. -

nice one. thanks -
i am thinking that they go full corpsepaint, bullet belts and spike arm and leg guards and cover Immortal's _Sons Of Northern Darkness_ in its entirety. Maybe they can do Darkthrone's _A Blaze In The Northern Sky_ as well as they are fairly short records.

An Important Read for Music Fans

great read from Anohni (fka Antony):https://thecreativeindependent.com/people/anohni-on-art-corporations-and-the-music-industry/ No one got paid to do that video except the hairdresser. The whole thing was done basically for free, just to make a product that we were then obliged to rent exclusively to Apple for a fraction of what they would had to have paid for it if they had framed it as an advertisement, which is of course what it was, though I didn’t want to admit it at the time. My being bought as a politically outspoken artist is a more potent advertising tool for Apple than a 100 mo
