  1. I'd like an application to the "I don't dig 'Grace' club". I've tried. It does nothing for me.
  2. I've always liked "It's Only Love" Bryan Adams - Tina Turner
  3. I broke this one out last night as well. Looking forward to seeing them on Thursday in Detroit.
  4. From Glenn's interview with "Getting in Tune" 1/31/2006 Although disappointed with Bach's decision, Kotche maintains he has nothing but respect for his former band mate. "I still think the world of him. It was great playing music with him. He just felt he was done; he needed to try some new things," says Kotche. "There was no animosity, no weirdness. It’s better he did that instead of staying around for a paycheck and be a disgruntled band member. I think he’s a tremendous musician, and I really respect him, personally. I love his personality and the way he goes about things. I miss that."
  5. 1. Handshake Drugs 2. Monday 3. Not for the Season 4. Outtasite (Outta Mind) 5. Shot in the Arm 6. A Magazine Called Sunset 7. Box Full of Letters - The song that got me hooked on Wilco way back when. Mostly because my live-in girlfriend at the time had a box full of letters, from another dude. Maybe I should thank him. I think I got the better end of the deal. 8. Pot Kettle Black 9. We've Been Had 10. I'm Always In Love 11. Casino Queen 12. Kingpin 13. Gun 14. Red Eyed and Blue 15. I Got You (at the end of the century) - How could 1 not follow the other? 16. War on War 17. Poor Pl
  6. I recognized one of the "choir" as Erin from the living room shows (God, I feel like some kind of cyber stalker or something). Not to much to add. Just an incredible show. The best of the 1/2 dozen or so I've seen.
  7. Let's see.....I've been to Pekin (Kingpin). I've been to FLA but not to Pensacola to hide from the snow. Nor have I been on a tour of Japan (Monday). I've been to Arizona (Hotel Arizona). I've been on a Michigan shore, live there actually (Spiders). Lived in California (California Stars). You've got the landing in St. Louis (Heavy Metal Drummer). Impossible Germany, Unlikely Japan. That's all I can think of that's Wilco. Certainly tons of references in Jeff's Uncle Tupelo songs and the Ruling Class from Loose Fur/solo stuff also comes to mind.
  8. 7-4-98 Summerfest - Milwaukee, WI 9-3-99 Phoenix Plaza Ampitheater - Pontiac, MI (Wilco opened for The Verve Pipe, ridiculous) 7-5-06 Summerfest - Milwuakee, WI 10-6-06 MSU Auditorium - East Lansing, MI 7-21-09 Royal Oak Music Theater - Royal Oak, MI Tweedy Solo 1-30-09 Hill Auditorium - Ann Arbor, MI
  9. I guess when you write a lot of great songs, it's unfortunate that some of them are left off various albums. I agree that 'Magazine' and 'Not for the Season' should've been on Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I think 'The Thanks I Get' should've been on Sky Blue Sky and 'Dark Neon' should've been on Wilco (The Album). Come to think of it, YHF could've been a double CD. Add Magazine, Not for the Season, Cars Can't Escape and Venus Stopped the Train.
  10. Heard "Outta Mind (Outta Site)" (yes, that's the jangly Sesame Street version)on the patio of HopCat here in Grand Rapids, MI on Saturday afternoon. Easily the most obscure Wilco tune I've ever heard out and about.
  11. Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again)& Magazine - wow!
  12. I live in a music desert or something. Couldn't find Ashes locally and now I can't find this. If someone could please PM me the mp3. Grateful would be an understatement.
  13. Wow! Some great posts here that echo many of my thoughts. And frankly, I'm surprised they haven't been met with more malice. In my opinion, the quote from the interview is being used a little out of context. Jeff was referring to those "fans" who have chastised him from moving away from alt. country. The initial post was about being disappointed in the DVD for a number of reasons, and yes, one of which was the direction of the music. I don't think that "bullshit" is being spewed. I didn't hear "Jeff Tweedy has abandoned his roots so I effing hate Wilco now!" I was disappointed with Sk
  14. I'll be there. I hope they do add an opener since I'm driving over from GR. Plan on getting there early but I'd still like to grab something to eat before hand and not wind up too far back.
  15. 1. Magazine Called Sunset 2. Not for the season 3. Kamera (in the Sam Jones/Wilco commentary version of IATTBYH they refer to this as "the Troggs Version")
  16. 1. Box Full of Letters 2. Monday 3. I'm Always In Love
  17. Very pleased with this record. And so happy, imo, it's not SBS part 2. I hate SBS.
  18. If you're brave enough, the houses on the cover of Mermaid I are in the 2800 block (between 28th and 29th) on the south side of the street. Just east of the First Baptist Church of Coney Island. They don't quite look the same as they did 10+ years ago.
