  1. I figured Outsourced would get the boot. NBC can't seem to come up with anything to stick in there on Thursday nights around The Office, Community, and Parks and Recreation. The word is that Ashton Kutcher is taking over for Charlie Sheen - at a 1 million an episode. I tried to watch that show once or twice. It seemed like crap to me.
  2. It sort of does - somewhere. It was worked on around here several years ago, I think.
  3. Plus, we got to see Jean-Ralphio and The Douche again.
  4. I'd say Parks and Recreation won the night for me. I didn't think the Community episode, or The Office was all that great. Or maybe it was due to having two episodes of Parks and Recreation to watch. I loved that Andy line about Neutral Milk Hotel. He said something about them being "sad, depressing, weird, and art". I'll take Mouse Rat any day.
  5. That made me think of the Lennon line - he said everyone gets a book, the gardener, the chauffeur, the fan, etc.
  6. I think like the Elvis Costello cds, David Bowie's catalog has been re-released two or three times since the Ryko releases.
  7. That's why I don't have the 2004 cd remasters of My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair... But Now They're Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows, Unicorn, Beard of Stars, and Prophets Seers & Sages: The Angels of the Ages. They were Universal UK. I really wish the Bolan estate would make a deal with Rhino.
  8. I should have posted the title - Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd
  9. Nick Mason's book is pretty cool. Pink Floyd Drummer on the Band's Unearthed Recordings, Endurance
  10. It's not everyday the man himself issues a press release: To my fans and followers
  11. Roger Waters with David Gilmour "Comfortably Numb" David Gilmour and Nick Mason Join Roger Waters in London
  12. Queen 40 Limited Edition Collector's Box Set The rest are coming out in June.
  13. I've never been into wrestling, or had a basement to hang out in, but those first two Ozzy albums are great. They are actually being re-released with the original bass/drum tracks. I'd say Pink Floyd was pretty much a darker side of things band - once they quit being a silly singles band, and moved onto being an album band. But - good art ain't always easy. I have no desire to hear The Wall again, but it is extraordinary brilliant album. I'm far from a Pink Floyd worshiper actually - but Dark Side of The Moon is one of best albums ever made. No doubt. And Live at Pompeii - you can't beat
  14. Interview with Nick Mason about the re-issues: Pink Floyd Announce Massive Reissue Project
  15. I found this the other day. It's pretty cool.
  16. That was actually done for the Jeff Beck album Flash. I think it is ok - it just has the overproduced sound of the time. Maybe I'm Amazed and (I Know) I'm Losing You were actually Faces tracks - not Rod solo tracks. I think both of those covers are great.
  17. Wolfgang's Vault now has video up - including some of Van Morrison. I am surprised he did not stop it. I think we will see more and more of stuff getting re-packaged and sold as time goes on. It's a way for the big record companies to make some money I suppose, and push people's back catalogs. Plus - they will get in on the vinyl craze until it dies off again. I still think the best re-mastered/re-packaged cds I have are The Golden Road boxset (GD), The Byrds re-masters, and maybe the Hendrix re-masters.
  18. I figure I'll get the Dark Side of The Moon two disc version. The CD I have from 199? whatever does not sound so great. I am not really interested in the rest of their albums. I figured Capitol would be trotting out the PK catalog again at some point. Plus - they have to get the vinyl out there to cash in on the vinyl craze.
  19. You can direct download both discs at the Live Wilco Archive.
  20. Mountain Bed reminded me that the other day was the anniversary of the Harpur College show (1970-05-02). That's a show one should most certainly have. It was released as Dick's Picks Number 8.
  21. You may be able to find it online somewhere, and it is told in a couple of interviews in the books. Short version - Supposedly, the band or band management would not pay her some money she was due, so she held on to the tapes. She had the tapes stored in a storage unit, and she did not have the money to pay for storage, so the contents of her storage locker were auctioned off. The tapes were spread from there by those who bought them. Also - many were ruined due to flooding that had taken place in the area. There are some copies of the first volume at Amazon for around 30 bucks. The othe
  22. I'd say her work is probably my most favorite out of all the people who worked on capturing the GD sound. I find the story of how those tapes got out into the world both sad and fascinating.
  23. There is also the Taper's Section at the same place Mr. Hippo pointed out. I'm just a novice. You should get Mountain Bed to post here. I would tell you to the get GD Taper's Books and read through those, but they are out of print, and cost a fortune. Maybe you can decide on a year, or years, and dig around among all the dead shows at Archive.org. You could also dig around in the other GD threads on here. You will find links to those on the first page of this thread. There is also this site: Grateful Dead Listening Guide Here are some I have bookmarked: Grateful Dead Live at The Ma
