  1. There is some talk about that and others who worked on Brothers and Sisters in the No Way Out book.
  2. I've always preferred the music of Dark Star over the lyrics.
  3. It also goes into this in the book. I had that cd and actually tossed it - it was bad.
  4. That's one I may actually want to get. Imagine - Band of Gypsy's and then GD in the space of a couple of days.
  5. I never did get the last one. I am not too excited about releases from these bands anymore.
  6. Ah - looks like he is back on that Springsteen/political trip.
  7. Ok - I like this book. It reminds me of the Neil Young book. Except - Jeff isn't talking about some doomed music system every few pages. Also - I bought my first record in 1974. It was The Jackson Five - Stand. I still have it. The first Blondie album I ever bought was Eat To The Beat. Which is still my favorite album by Blondie. Nice to see my home state get mentioned.
  8. Looks like Jay is having a sale: Reverb.com
  9. I am curious to hear the album Duane and Devon are making. Actually Berry Jr. is in the band also.
  10. I just noticed Amazon Prime has added Anthem to Beauty (plus a bunch more of those Classic Albums documentaries).
  11. I was surprised to find the book on my local library's e-book site yesterday. There are very few music related e-books on there. Even more surprising - there is a wait list. I will get to read it at some point this winter.
  12. It's streaming at his site. Right now - you can do the subscription for 20 bucks a year.
  13. You may want to check this book out: Salamander: The Story of the Mormon Forgery Murders
  14. I once read that Judas Priest had another drummer hidden under that stage. I have heard of keyboards off to the side or under the stage - but never another drummer hidden away.
  15. And so are KISS on their recent shows (Paul). It's a shame they just don't hang it up now. From the videos I've seen - it seems Gene is doing great with his solo band shows.
  16. I don't really listen to such things these days - but Harvester of Sorrow is one of my favorite Metallica songs. I've read various things about the current DP tour. At least he is not singing along with tapes.
  17. Ian started playing those drums during the Deep Purple long instrumental jams. I guess he wanted something to do. Interesting thing about him - he does not use vocal monitors.
  18. Oh - I have those Dio albums. I still think the first one (Heaven and Hell) is the best though.
  19. While we are at it - check out Mac Sabbath - if you have not already done so.
  20. Ian was also sleeping in a tent in the yard. And kept his golf clubs in a tent next to it. I believe they also blew that up. That's probably the last Sabbath album I ever heard - besides Seventh Star and the Dio reunion albums. I've read about the following but never heard them:
  21. The stories around the making of that album are pretty funny.
