  1. A friend of mine (from Wheeling) just turned me on to that show.
  2. I bought that and Fables of The Reconstruction at the same time. Those albums were my first two. I also recall buying Succumbs. I still have it.
  3. Some of those passages read about the same as some of the stuff in Dave's book. From what I have read, Alex has been clean for several years now. It seems Eddie may be also. Supposedly, they are working on a new VH album with Dave.
  4. It's funny that they use the VH excerpts to push the book. Not his time in Montrose or his solo career. And lastly, a guy who owned a tequila company, and has a ton of songs about drinking and parting is going to jump on a dude who has a problem? Seems a bit odd. Sammy has always seemed sort of fake to me. I like the first Montrose album. Other than that, he does not do anything for me.
  5. It's funny, just about like U2, I think at this point I like the acoustic and/or slow songs better than whatever rocking songs they come up with. At least neither band is putting out albums of cover songs. And I hope they never do.
  6. I don't know - jut not my cup of tea. I like the REM that did songs about the South, and told stories. Every band changes, some older fans go along on the trip, some don't. Monster was one of the last cassettes I ever bought in an actual record store. I will give this new one a listen, but I doubt I will buy it.
  7. I had that whole deal. Those were remade a few years ago, but they are not as well made as they were back in the day.
  8. I think I meant to say the song What's The Frequency, Kenneth? sounds disjointed.
  9. You have to figure those dudes are reluctant to sign anything - as a lot of it is probably people looking to sell the item on Ebay.
  10. That album sounds out of key, or musically out of time, or something like that.
  11. I like the song Strange Currencies - that is about it.
  12. That is sort of an interesting thing to do. I believe Blondie was the first band to make a film for each song on an album (Eat To The Beat).
  13. That was my first thought. It sounded like a laid back Monster. R.E.M. Recruits James Franco, Albert Maysles to Helm 'Collapse Into Now' Videos
  14. Actually, there is a lot about Bob and their relationship in the book.
  15. Sundazed Record Store Day 2011 Limited Edition Releases
  16. Those albums after Odessa after don't do much for me. There are some great songs in there from time to time though. It seems like some of that stuff comes out in the UK, and then here by way of Rhino some time later. I am still waiting for them to put out all of the T.Rex albums someday. As far as I know, Electric Warrior is the only one they have released. 1967 Bee Gees 1st 1968 Horizontal 1968 Idea 1969 Odessa
  17. Those Handmade releases almost use to be a secret, but now they are advertising them all over the place. They seem to really be cranking them out these days. I think that may be what keeps them in business though, all of these expensive box sets, and special cd sets.
  18. I just read a news report that stated there were more than 70,000 people marching in Wisconsin yesterday. That's pretty amazing.
  19. One of the amazing things to me about Sundazed, is that they often get their hands on the master tapes. I know this, as not only do they state it, but they post photos of the tape boxes. I think that is one of the things that makes a difference - the source tape. Of course, with some of the stuff you have talked about, the record album is the only source. But sometimes, you can really tell that the label had nothing to work with except digital files from who knows when, or copies of copies of master tapes. Whenever we have this sort of discussion, I am reminded of a old Rolling Stone
