  1. It's worth it, but there is no way I could justify spending that sort of bread on music these days.
  2. I clicked on the pre-order button just for kicks, and their website had crashed. I guess people must be going for it. If I want it, I will probably get it like I did the Fillmore West 1969: The Complete Recordings boxset.
  3. Europe '72: The Complete Recordings ($450 bucks)
  4. It is in 9 parts, but I am use to watching shows and movies on Youtube, so it was no big deal. There is some overlap with the Beyond The Lighted Stage film, but it is still informative.
  5. I don't have the Live At Royal Albert Hall album. I should pick that cd up at some point.
  6. I even have the reunion album: Byrds (1973). Besides all the studio albums, I also these two releases: Live at the Fillmore — February 1969 and The Preflyte Sessions.
  7. Yes. He is the Byrds authority. He wrote all the liner notes that you can find in the cd booklets in the re-masters. Which, as I have said before, are some of the best sounding cds I have ever heard.
  8. Rush 2011 Tour Dates I watched the 2112 and Moving Pictures Classic Albums documentary on Youtube yesterday. It was really good.
  9. I think here where I live it is on very late now. My local PBS station runs some sort of religious show on Saturday nights - which I find odd. I mainly say that due to the fact we have 4 or 5 religious channels here. I don't know why PBS needs to run a religious show also. The episode that Phish is on is something else. There were a lot of people there.
  10. Do you live near Pittsburgh? That is what the Pittsburgh channel runs all the time. John Denver had some great songs. At least, Take Me Home, Country Roads and Rocky Mountain High are great songs. I have not watched Austin City Limits in a long time. It's funny how they use to mainly feature country artists, and local Texas bands. Not much anymore, I don't think. I have several episodes on video. The one featuring Whiskeytown/Old 97s comes to mind.
  11. I doubt many people buy cds these days, unless they are old or a music freak of some sort. Sony will close South Jersey CD plant
  12. I will just say he has not answered my emails in a long time. I thought of this not to long ago, as someone asked me why the recent Owl and Bear Wilco Archive links were not appearing in Wilcobase. I basically quit sending the links to him. I don't want to sound disrespectful, as I know this stuff can take up you time, sometimes. But, if Wilcobase is going to remain idle, maybe Via Chicago should take it over.
  13. I think there were several Jerry releases last year.
  14. One thing that ruins that song is the stupid gun fire sound effects. If I recall correctly, there is a version of it on the re-mater without the sound effects.
  15. If you get the last re-master, there is a hidden track at the end of the cd that features David yelling at Michael while the band is trying to cut the track (Draft Morning). He was a crap drummer, but that is how it was back then.
  16. Interview: A Word With Gary Louris of The Jayhawks I wish No Depression was still in print. They ran a great article about the band around the time of Smile. You can find it in the No Depression.com archives online.
  17. I think when a show is made available commercially, it gets taken down at the archive. Although, that may just for multi-track releases. I have seen soundboard sourced shows available for streaming only, but not available for download. Of course, this does not mean AUD sources. And as I have said before, you can grab just about every soundboard there is by way of bt.etree.org. Why those shows don't get banned on bt.etree.org or other BT sites is beyond me. I figure if a buy a show I am paying for the HDCD mastering and the artwork/liner notes.
  18. I guess it was posted Friday, but it did not show up on my Facebook page until a few minutes ago. Although, I am not hardcore about it, I do prefer to listen to entire shows.
  19. New feature up at Dead.net: Jam Of The Week
  20. The bonus disc has some great footage. I don't think they showed that on VH1.
  21. There is talk that a lot of those other tracks had modern overdubs. Bonzo's Montreux was recorded in 1976, I think. I'd say I like the first side better than the second side. I still have the original pressing I bought when it came out in 1982. There are a lot of neat photos inside the album cover.
  22. Ozone Baby, Darlene, and Wearing and Tearing came out of the In Through The Out Door sessions.
  23. The band he is really talking about in that statement is Led Zeppelin. Personally, I would rather go see LZ play old songs than go see Robert Plant play a show full of cover songs and whatever else he does these days. The only solo album of his I ever really cared for was Pictures At Eleven.
  24. Although he may be annoyed at bands playing their old songs, he himself does just that. The songs may be re-worked, and sound different, but still, he plays the old songs. I saw him in 1990 and he was doing it then, but instead of going for a 50s country sound, it was all about sound effects and keyboards back then. I know someone who is going to go see him this year. He is expecting a Zeppelin type rock show. I tried to explain to him that Plant does not play music that way anymore. The band was actually set to carry on without him, but then, it fell apart just as it did in the 1980s wh
  25. What problem do you have downloading the show by way of the Wilco Archive? It is the exact same set of FLAC files that you received in the torrent you downloaded.
