First Listen: Bob Dylan, 'The Witmark Demos 1962-1964' (npr music)
-
I saw it because it was on the free On Demand channel. I should have also mentioned it was most certainly the uncut or director's cut version. That scene where Dylan is made to read the can labels - I did not get that. I understand Garrett had power, but that just seemed sort of dumb.

I watched Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973) last Saturday night. I had not seen it since the early 1990s. I was struck by a few things. It's really not that great of a movie, Dylan was definitely stuck in there for no good reason, Kristofferson acted like a rock star, and finally, I never noticed that was Rita Coolidge playing Maria.

They already have - if you count these: U2 Compilation albums

It's an old joke around here. The band never put out a dvd of those shows.
-
I've got a bunch of shows stacked up, but I have not listened to them yet.
-
I can't stand to hear that song, the same way I can't stand to hear Stairway To Heaven, or Freebird. But, I have always liked Jerry's part. I have often read that he did not think much of it.

I just recalled those threads and thought maybe someone might want to look at them.

If Hollywood picked up Wilco who would the cast be? Tweedy in Almost Famous
-
You probably know this - but that was a joke. I am just a loser who has wasted most of his time online, when I should have been doing something else. As you said, it's not hard to learn what Wilco is doing. All one has to do is look at their official website, sign up for the email deal, or use the search function on this message board. I think the person who started this thread really just wants people to clink on the gigantic link in his signature line. One thing I find annoying here these days - people pushing their products and not really participating here, except to start threads

I should have posted it again. Thanks for posting the link.

I don't care for the band, but it is impressive that they came out of the 80s, and are still making albums that sell in the millions, and doing successful tours.
-
On the press release that lists the tour dates, there is an asterisk next to some shows. At the bottom of the page, it says those shows are electric only. I am guessing it had to do with curfew, or some other logistical problem.
-
I believe both of the Texas shows were noted as being electric sets only.

I like some of it. I dig around on Youtube, and check out various tracks.

I've read some stuff about the Northern Soul movement. I first learned about it by way of a Mojo Magazine article.

There was a time when they use to cover Faces songs. I don't recall seeing those songs in the set list for quite a while. The BC Tour Blog has been updated with a nice post about their Georgia Music Hall of Fame ceremony.

I think he also said he was a fan, but did not really know any of his songs. Rick bought that album. I forget how much he paid the guy for it.
-
I've read that it was not staged. Someone must have done some research and knew that he often walks around the town where he is playing.
-
Deborah Koons I have feeling it has been re-done a few times. I think Rock Scully talks about that place in his book. Bill Kreutzmann just showed up in the list of people I should add as a friend on Facebook.

I wonder who owns it now. I've read that his estate was not worth very much when he died.
