  1. I have to disagree with that statement. And let's not forget Mike Heidorn, Ken Coomer, John Stirratt, and Max Johnston.
  2. I got it, plus the bonus disc. But - I have not listened to it yet. The liner notes give you a short history of song publishing. I found that sort of interesting.
  3. U2 Working with Danger Mouse, Will.i.am on New Albums
  4. I've read various things about that over the years. I think I have also read that it was just Rick and Bun at the sessions.
  5. There seems to be some discussion at Amazon.com: John Lennon - Signature Box I recall when this one came out: John Lennon - Anthology I don't think I own any Lennon solo albums on cd except for a greatest hits.
  6. I don't think much of that Bob Spitz book. I have heard that Lewisohn is working on a bio type book. That should be good. There are probably some more listed here: The old music book thread. I would go with: Shout: The Beatles in Their Generation by Philip Norman.
  7. I have read the original version is 4 hours long. I don't think it ever came out officially, except for some of the music performances. Someone gave me a VHS copy of it back in the early 1990s, but it would not play in my VCR. The copy of Eat The Document I have came from you, if I recall correctly.
  8. Renaldo and Clara use to be on Youtube. I think one of the greatest things about No Direction Home was the recent interviews he did for the film. I would be surprised if he ever did anything like that again.
  9. First Listen: Bob Dylan, 'The Witmark Demos 1962-1964' (npr music)
  10. I saw it because it was on the free On Demand channel. I should have also mentioned it was most certainly the uncut or director's cut version. That scene where Dylan is made to read the can labels - I did not get that. I understand Garrett had power, but that just seemed sort of dumb.
  11. I watched Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973) last Saturday night. I had not seen it since the early 1990s. I was struck by a few things. It's really not that great of a movie, Dylan was definitely stuck in there for no good reason, Kristofferson acted like a rock star, and finally, I never noticed that was Rita Coolidge playing Maria.
  12. They already have - if you count these: U2 Compilation albums
  13. It's an old joke around here. The band never put out a dvd of those shows.
  14. I've got a bunch of shows stacked up, but I have not listened to them yet.
  15. I can't stand to hear that song, the same way I can't stand to hear Stairway To Heaven, or Freebird. But, I have always liked Jerry's part. I have often read that he did not think much of it.
  16. I just recalled those threads and thought maybe someone might want to look at them.
  17. If Hollywood picked up Wilco who would the cast be? Tweedy in Almost Famous
  18. You probably know this - but that was a joke. I am just a loser who has wasted most of his time online, when I should have been doing something else. As you said, it's not hard to learn what Wilco is doing. All one has to do is look at their official website, sign up for the email deal, or use the search function on this message board. I think the person who started this thread really just wants people to clink on the gigantic link in his signature line. One thing I find annoying here these days - people pushing their products and not really participating here, except to start threads
  19. I should have posted it again. Thanks for posting the link.
  20. I don't care for the band, but it is impressive that they came out of the 80s, and are still making albums that sell in the millions, and doing successful tours.
  21. On the press release that lists the tour dates, there is an asterisk next to some shows. At the bottom of the page, it says those shows are electric only. I am guessing it had to do with curfew, or some other logistical problem.
  22. I believe both of the Texas shows were noted as being electric sets only.
