  1. Here's a review of the show and some great photos on Brooklyn Vegan: http://bit.ly/NPKDoC The review not only references Via Chicago, but also this very thread. (I'm creating a vicious circle here.) Some commenters then get into a hilarious/juvenile/ridiculous argument about Via Chicago. BTW, has anyone on this board ever actually used the word "amazeballs" to describe a Wilco show?
  2. The guy who did the 100 Riffs is Alex Chadwick.

  5. They're not counting festivals, just proper Wilco concerts where your ticket says "Wilco" at the top, rather than Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Neil Young, etc. BTW, the Jam twitter feed says the show is now sold out.
  6. Here's a review and a couple of photos from the Sioux City Journal: http://bit.ly/NORyd5
  7. The second features FOH sound man Stan Doty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4Atf9THT2M
  8. There are two other videos that go along with this one. The first features the director Chris Storer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyGKedeCFd4
  9. That did the trick. Thanks! (Of course everything sounds really fast now!)
  10. Everything just sounds slow to me. Hope it's just the webcast. Also "Wilco" is trending worldwide on twitter.
  11. It was 1988. My favorite quote from his rant: "The United States is 6% of the population of the world. That's why I came here tonight with Muhammad Ali."
  12. Of course last year The Black Keys won Best Alternative Album over Arcade Fire, and then an hour later Arcade Fire won Album of the Year. So yes, the Grammys are weird. This year Best Rock Album will NOT be awarded during the TV broadcast, but during the pre-telecast ceremony. You can catch it online starting at 1:00 Pacific Time on Sunday afternoon. http://www.grammy.com/live
  13. Review from The Oregonian: http://www.oregonlive.com/music/index.ssf/2012/02/review_wilco_at_the_arlene_sch.html
  14. Review from the Vancouver Sun: http://www.vancouversun.com/Wilco+gives+whole+love+Vancouver/6106129/story.html This may be a record for fastest posting of a concert review by a major metropolitan newspaper. Posted at 11:07 p.m. That had to be like what, 7 minutes after the show ended?
  15. Well I hope nobody got kicked out or had their cell phone confiscated for violating the "no camera" policy tonight, because Yuka C. Honda (aka Mrs. Nels Cline) broke this rule with impunity: https://twitter.com/#!/YukaCHonda/status/163858989203980288 And she did it five different times! OK, maybe she had a photo pass, I don't know. Just thought it was kind of amusing.
  16. Nice review in the LA Times: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2012/01/wilco-at-the-palladium-night-one-of-three-gigs-in-los-angeles.html
  17. Great new video interview with Nels by Premier Guitar. He walks through most of his guitars, his amp and pedalboard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GRSH8yxWjc
  18. Looks like they jettisoned the planned second encore of Red Eyed & Blue/I Got You and Hoodoo Voodoo. Photo of the printed setlist: https://twitter.com/...2784384/photo/1
  19. Notice that it's a Region 4 DVD. Which means that unless you bought your DVD player in Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, the Caribbean, or South America it's not going to play.
  20. I guess Diet Coca-Cola and unlit cigarettes now cost $6.49. Inflation. The "No Camera" policy was in full force. The security guard near me said it was a point of emphasis in their afternoon security briefing. I didn't see anyone kicked out, but as soon as a camera phone went up, the security guys were flashing flashlights in the face of the would-be photographer and cutting through the crowd to put an end to it. And this was five minutes after the doors opened, and people were just taking photos of the stage. Choice banter: "On Spencer's 13th birthday, he played with us at Madison Squar
  21. I heard a very loud "OH MY GOD!!" during the very quiet beginning of Muzzle of Bees from some woman who apparently loves that song.
  22. Show started at 9:17 and ended at 11:29. The mayor left early and he missed a great second encore. Choice banter: Jeff: "I'm gonna talk just like a person on the internet all night. That was so stupid, I can't believe they did that." (in reference to intentionally shining the spot light on the wrong band member during the band introductions.) Guy in the audience: "How's the weather forecast?" Jeff: "I have no idea what you're talking about." Jeff: "Not since the days of Krokus touring the mid-west, have two different double neck guitars been used on the same stage in one night." Gu

  24. Welcome to the internet where everyone with a blog thinks My Opinion = The Truth
  25. The Tuesday night show at The Riv is an XRT Holiday Concert for the Kids, not the Thursday show at The Vic (or any of the other shows this week).
