  1. Funny thing is, they do Truckin after all. These fall '71 FM tour shows are all great. https://archive.org/details/gd71-10-30.prefm.nawrocki.26608.sbeok.shnf/gd1971-10-30d2t07.shn
  2. Will check that out. I've always had the next night in St. Louis. Run Run Rudolph! EDIT: Oops, the Fox Theater St. Louis show I'm thinking of is 12-10-71.
  3. ^ never heard that! Hilarious. I don't think I've ever heard of a deadhead who didn't like Truckin, until today. Garcia knew better.
  4. OK, now I can go on with my day knowing the earth hasn't completely slipped off its axis!
  5. Wow, it's always eye-opening to read lists of "best of" or "worst of", so I shouldn't be surprised. But I'm surprised. List of tunes folks don't want to hear: Playin, Sugar Mag, Truckin (Truckin!!!???), Jack Straw (one of my favorite songs of all time, not just GD), Dark Star, Let it Grow. From GD fans posting to a GD topic. Will wonders never cease! My golf balls are logoed with "Jack Straw"
  6. I've been warned to stay away from Craigslist several times by NY friends. Never had an issue here in Boston, but friends have gotten burned in NYC buying fake tickets off Craig's List.
  7. Great discussion topic Mr. Heartbreak. My top 3 regular rotation GD songs that I just can't listen to anymore (in no particular order): Tennessee Jed Ramblin Rose BIODTL I just never listen to those songs anymore when they come up; they each get an immediate "skip." They were all big faves when I was young and first getting into the Dead around the time of Europe '72, but I'm just done with them. I limited my selections to heavy rotation GD tunes. By definition, that excluded some of the later era tunes that I can't stand. But that's an entirely different discussion (and one that's bee
  8. ^similar issue for my wife, who works in a school system in the Boston area. We never go out before Friday, but now it looks like school will be extended through that Friday (if not the following Monday), which means rather than a leisurely drive out early on Friday, we'll be scrambling to get out there, leaving Needham not before 3:30 at the earliest, causing me much anxiety.
  9. When the daily schedule gets released? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Oh wow, I watch Billions. Haven't caught up with last night's episode yet. Disappointed that Wendy didn't know better but glad the Times writer corrected the record.
  11. I'm in for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday w/my wife, Orchestra Row G Sunday solo, Orchestra Row E. Saturday can't get here soon enough!
  12. Getting very psyched, Saturday and Sunday for me, orchestra both nights Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I have friends who are big fans, I'm sure they will be at Thunder Road tonight. Explains why they're not going to HOB.
  14. I think it's an anti-scalping move by the band, or maybe the Beacon. I can't give them a hard time if that's what it is. When they played the Wang in Boston on the Whole Love tour, there were no tickets, everyone had to show up as a "will-call." It was a pain for people going in groups to have everyone together, but again, that was an anti-scalper technique. I give them credit for trying.
  15. Galactic and Robert Randolph at HOB Boston
  16. I have an extra pair in Lodge Row F. I have the physical tickets in hand. PM me if interested.
  17. Unlike any other TM purchase, I also could not print at home or e-transfer my tickets. Could only use mobile app. As I have extras to get to friends and family, I had to get on the phone with TM and have them manually change the delivery method to mail me physical tickets, which I have now received. It's a pain to have to do that, but it can be done.
  18. Thanks for the reminder. I have friends here in MA who went down to MSG for a show or game and got ripped off with fake CL tix. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. That should be fantastic. I can't stop playing Prisoner. Have a blast! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Me too. Each note is in my gene sequence at this point. Pure GD rick n roll. Love Weir flubbing the verse in Stephen.
  21. I can't say what the "best ever" version of Dark Star is. There are too many of them and I haven't given them all a serious listen. Too subjective anyway. I can say this is my favorite DS version. Everything about it is just perfect. Probably my favorite Dark Star sequence is also from the Fillmore East, 4-28-71. That Dark Star>St. Stephen>NFA>GDTRFB>NFA is pure gold.
  22. August 11 in Denver, as part of the Colorado Classic cycle race The state of Colorado is reinventing the bike race, blending a four-stage men's UCI event, two-day, three-stage women's race and a large festival that will include major music acts including Wilco and Death Cab for Cutie in the final host city of Denver's RiNo arts district. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/colorado-classic-uci-stage-race-announced-as-part-of-velorama/
