Last night in Worcester: http://www.jambase.com/Articles/127022/Dead-and-Company-Honors-Allen-Toussaint-In-Worcester

Had a fun time last night. Band sounds great, Mayer's playing is pretty much perfect in this setting to my ears. And Weir's playing better than he was 5 years ago. I think Mayer's raised the game of the entire band. Oteil and Cheminti excellent players, and the DRUMS are a huge factor. Last night's first set-execelletn song selection-could have used some variation in tempo- the entire set was played at that slowish mid-tempo. COuld have used some variation from song to song. Second set kicked butt-fantastic. Right from the Deal opener, into Uncle John's (where Mayer was doing his best

On the road, a music warrior. Thankful for the couple of times I got to see him at JazzFest.

That is fucking hilarious! That being said, I am super psyched for tonight's show!

Dead and Company
-
I bet that's real, or very close to 7:00 start. Figure this: first set 7:15 - 8:30. Long intermission, second set 9:30 - 11:00. Plan on 7:00 or very close to 7:00 start.

Watching the rebroadcast right now. I missed it last night. Set 2 just started.

Very well put. I didn't go to Chicago, but from what I Watched and listened to, this band sounds so much more focused and tighter. I had no intention of going to Worcester on a Tuesday night when this tour was announced, but I got myself a ticket and now I am super psyched. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

And the Eyes>Playin is not too shabby

Got mine yesterday. Listening today. Halfway thru disc 2, into second set. Loving it, but then again I'm a sucker for '73 Dead, my single favorite year of their music. Going to leave disc 3 for a late night burn under the headphones. Like the Jerry bust in NJ story in McNally's liner notes. Never heard that one before. And at the end where he writes how Cutler called John Scher to bail him out. My daugter is good friends with Scher's daughter, and I grew up going to Scher produced shows in the NY/NJ area, so I get a big kick out of that. Sounds real good for the original 2track, excep

I hate going to the Centrum any time of year. Always traffic heading from Boston, and it's always packed inside trying to move around the perimeter promenade. I hate that Phish always plays there. And yes, I still call it the Centrum (just like I call the summer shed Great Woods whatever they call it now, and same with Harborlights). I can't keep up with all these name changes. I just did the same on Monday. Looks too good to pass up. Got a single in section 124. Let me know what you end up doing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Based on what I've heard and reports I've read, I bought a Worcester ticket.

Dave's Picks 2016 subscription announced. I bought the subscription for the first time. DP 17 will be the Fresno July 19 '74 show, another '74 monster wall of sound show. http://www.dead.net/almanac?cmpid=dn/2015November3/AlmanacIsHere-main-image-1&eml=2015November3/2862202/6131962&etsubid=27625223

I Shall Be Released

This Jack Straw is great! Mayer can play this music, for sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig3qLtMAn_4&sns=em Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

New band, not the Nocturnals, right? her husband was the drummer I hear. Saw them open for the Allmans a few years ago at Great Woods, and saw them last year at Lockn' 2014. Thought they were fun both times. She did a stunning tribute to Farmer, Warren's guitar tech who suddenly died shortly before. Got on the B3 and did a solo I Shall Be Released. I am not surprised Mayer is sounding good with this band and this material. I listened to a bunch of the second set from the stream, and as I listened realized I am more likely now to go to Worcester. As for the comments about Weir and the slow tempo on some tunes, I don't hold much hope that will change. After FTW, Trey was quoted that he said to Bobby "do you really want to play that song so slow?" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Just listened to a few minutes of Music Never Stopped on the live stream. Sounded pretty hot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Exactly.

I like everything about her (my friends all know I have a soft spot for a girl playing electric guitar), but her writing style particularly catches my attention. She has a great way of turning a phrase, and capturing a unique perspective on the ordinary and everyday.

I like it more than "okay." Not as much as Sometimes I Sit and Think..., but it does have Avant Gardner, so that in and of itself gets it a better than okay rating in my book.

My attorney advised me to take the Fifth! Let's just say it involved a car in the parking lot that was suddenly surrounded by police. My buddy who was with me wrote "An eternal thank you goes out to the South Yarmouth Police Department.." Amen to that.
