Same here. I'm blown away.
-
That's funny. I played a buddy of mine, who had never listened to the band, Shame, Shame and he immediately thought of the Lips. I don't really hear it. Maybe a little, I guess.
-
Nah, that's cool. I found a stream of the video. Thanks.
-
Is this from a recent SXSW show, or old one? Link? I will definitely be making the May 1st show at Emo's (w/ Deer Tick).
-
Thanks for the heads up, Beltmann!
-
Agreed. "Is this WilCo County?"
-
I hope they never play in Cedar Park again. That place blows. I really enjoyed the Can't Stand It.
-
No, no, no. Round Room is actually their most underrated record, IMO. It holds up. Joy is ok. It has its moments.
-
Changed The Locks and Joy are 2 of the best songs she has ever written.

How is this? His first one, right? I haven't listened to any of his early stuff. Can you recommend some of his best early work? I hear Where'd You Hide the Body is really good.

I have to say that I am very disappointed in the 3 tracks from the new record that are out there.

Monsters of Folk (James, Oberst & Ward)

Nah, James and Ward have been positive influences on Conor. He's not nearly as pretentious and whiny any more. -

I don't know. Yim Yames sounds pretty legit. -
Old Crow Medicine Show - David Rawlings Machine

Hopefully they will add more dates. That should be a great show to catch. -
Great live band.

OMG you're so cool!!

I'm wondering who RS's "Dirtiest Girl In Porn" is.
-
It's a really good lineup. Price is pretty steep, but I will do what I have done the past few years and get day passes at the last minute on craigslist. Should have slightly cooler weather (moved back to early October this year), and they are putting in the new sod and irrigation system now. So hopefully much less dust in the park.

This leaked? Damn, I really need an invite to a better site. (hint, hint)

I pretty much agree with this, except I don't hate Beyond Here Lies Nothin'. It's just average. I definitely dig the Billy Joe Shaver name check.
-
I can't wait to see how he sings it in New Orleans.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend for the band. And a weekend that brings back a lot of great memories. Cheers!
