Well put. I implore you not to judge the genre by what you hear on the radio or see on TV. airtaco...I dig Jay-Z a lot, it's just one of those artists I have yet to really delve deep into.

It was entertaining enough I guess, but the ending left me a little cold. I actually enjoyed the DVD featurette 'Number 4' where Spike and Denzel have a conversation about this and the other three films they've made together, more than the flick itself...kind of cool.

My younger brother loved him, but i've just more recently really delved into his catalog...there'll be a tune w/ him and the Hieoglyphics ('Burnt') on my mix dropping soon that is just too fucking awesome for words. You should check out the Deltron shit he did w/ Automator too...Jeff (imdwiener) turned me onto that a few years ago and it's amazing.

depends on the 'white kid'...but there's some of that, i'm sure. thing is, there's a lot of parity in poverty/problems the innercity and more rural areas of the south...white kids, black kids, whatever. not a direct comparison, but parity. legitimate 'gangsterism' isn't just a 'black thing' anymore and kids don't see color as much as we do.
