  1. Never heard this before yesterday but I'm on my third listen. I like it.
  2. I watched Woody Allen's Scoop last night. Scarlett aside, it was not so great ...
  3. Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly got together to play two shows this past Saturday and they were great. They played at the Brattle Theater, a small (250 seats) theater right in Harvard Square. They each played a solo set (although Tanya had two guys play with her) and then they played a set of Throwing Muses songs together. It was pretty low key but a lot of fun. I saw both shows and they each mixed up their sets so there were not to many repeats. It was great to hear them singing together on the Throwing Muses songs. For those who care about these sorts of things, below are the setli

  6. Getting back to the Feelies, I have always liked the transition from Slipping (into Something) to When Company Comes (on the Good Earth).
  7. China Cat -> I Know You Rider from Europe 72
  8. Retired 19 straight batters at one point ...
  9. Pitcher Tim Wakefield received a cortisone shot in his back and will not be on the team's ALDS roster, which was unveiled today.
  10. All that and expect to smile more than you do at a standard rock show. (And if you go see them again in six months, expect to see the same show again.)
  11. Me too! I was in the third row ...
  12. Not sure how I got through being an English major without ever hearing about his book.
  13. I think the original comment (about Talking Heads) was about LCD Soundsystem ...
  14. Saw the show in Boston (actually Somerville) a week or so ago, and it was great. I wish they had played more together, but I'm not really complaining.
  15. I saw it in the theater and then went back and saw it in the theater a second time. Can't remember the last time I did that ...
  16. Happy Birthday!! (And thanks for many B&Ps back when people did that sort of thing ...)
  17. The Globe today said that it was a get-away game for the A's, but they have the day off tomorrow ...
  18. Interesting - I actually think Wake Up is one of the most amazing openers ever.
  19. That heat is coming here (Boston) today. It's supposed to be in the 90s today ...
  20. Just bought it but won't get to listen to it until tonight ...
  21. Love them Feelies. One of my favorite and weird Feelies moments was when they were on Letterman years ago. They didn't have the whole band; they had Glenn Mercer and Bill Million playing guitars and singing with Letterman's band but they also had Dave Weckerman playing tambourine. After they played, Letterman came over and said (and I am paraphrasign here) "if things get tough in the world of the Feelies and you need to have some layoffs, I think I know where to start" and he nodded over at Weckerman. And then it was incredibly awkward for everyone. Does anyone have Mercer's solo album
