  1. 6-1 Jays (and the Yankees are winning). I think I am going to be sick. As someone who came of baseball age as a Red Sox fan around 1978 I didn't think it could get much worse that that ...
  2. Next time is the day after tomorrow ...
  3. A friend just called and asked if I wanted to go to the show in Boston on Friday night.
  4. Ummm. Yes. I suppose that might be right.
  5. Yup. It's pretty stunning what a disaster he has been. I don't think anyone expected the Gagne of old, but he had an ERA of just over 2.00 (and 16 saves) when they got him and his ERA while on the Sox is 9.00.
  6. I am sort of weird about the Band. I do like them (particularly the first two albums) and I love Dylan, but somehow the stuff they did together (Basement Tapes, Before the Flood) has never done it for me. I know I am in the minority here - and it has really been years since I have listened to either one - so maybe I need to give them another try.
  7. That is a great record. I remember seeing them right when that came out. They introduced about half the songs by saying "this is a song about farming equipment."
  8. I have liked some of his other writing but this didn't do much for me.
  9. Sinead O'Connor - I Believe in You Frank Black - Changing of the Guards
  10. I wonder if the Dinosaur Jr. Nikes are still available ...
  11. As a Pats fan, I find it disturbing. And to quote Deadspin, "it's like Lisa Simpson peaking at Ralph Wiggum's test answers."
  12. Something sure is wrong: "Bonderman was 10-1 after beating Seattle on July 13, but he is 1-8 since and has given up at least six earned runs in five of his past nine starts."
  13. Indeed. I didn't expect to see that much of Randy Moss.
  14. Why yes I do. Actually, yes he does. I know it includes both Bill Lee and Sam Horn.
  15. Indeed. I never understood the Sox obsession with him.
  16. Rick Ankiel is having a pretty nice day.
  17. They (Meat Puppets) are playing here in Cambridge tonight but I think I'll pass. I'm not so hot on their new one.
  18. Question for the Dark Star lovers in the crowd - any thoughts on either: Dick's Picks, Vol. 16: Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, CA, 11/8/69 or the Fillmore West 1969 box set
