I think the song itself is OK - and there is a very nice solo piano version floating around. But to my ears, the version on the album sounds like bad 1980's adult contemporary rock that would be found on the Miami Vice soundtrack or a Lionel Richie album. I just don't care for the cheesy keyboards, the sax solo, the guitar sound. Given how much I like every other song he has put out as Bon Iver, this song just seems out of place and doesn't work for me.

Good one. I like that album much more than I like anything by Modest Mouse.

Beltmann - wow, thanks for recommending this powerful movie. Watched it last night and I am still thinking about it. It was at once both beautiful to watch and horrible to imagine those events.

Japancakes (from Athens GA) did a a cover of MBV's Loveless album a few years ago. It's pretty good, if you like that sort of thing. There is a lot of cello and pedal steel guitar and little/no distortion.

I don't follow the Brewers all that closely so I'm sure I'm missing something but isn't this a case of the Brewers screwing themselves equally as much as K Rod screwing them? They acquired him and his hefty salary and asked him to be a set-up guy. They gambled by offering him arbitration so they could get the extra first round pick and they assumed he'd turn it down. When you say he screwed them are you suggesting that they had some unwritten agreement or understanding that he would turn down arbitration?
