Timothy Bracy (Mendoza Line & Slow Dazzle): you long for a bar with a quiet room but no one's gonna treat you like a kid that way you've got trouble enough since you fucked the landlord you're breaking like eggshells from under the car door the grains of regret still blooming in her face now nothing is settled so that makes you nervous cause you won't be so lucky when they figure it out and your hand moves so slightly she'd scarcely notice what you call audacious, dear, i barely count and i won't be there when you change your mind but if your heart should change i guess i mig

Golden Smog Vic Show - XRT Sunday Night Concert
Doug replied to jdmel's topic in Someone Else's Song
So apparently "Blood on the Slacks" has a release date (April 24), and it's a 8-song mini-album. Does anyone know what sort of contribution Tweedy made to this EP? Does he sing lead on any of the tunes, or at least write/co-write some of 'em? -
There hasn't been any news coming from my second favorite band's camp in quite a while. Their website hasn't been updated since December. Anyone know what these guys and gals are up to?

Is this the same Rachel who plays drums for M. Ward?

Is this a band worth checking out?

I haven't heard the album yet, but from what folks are saying about it (e.g. horns, piano, etc.), I'm thinking that maybe The Search is similar to Jay's solo stuff. Would y'all agree?

Thanks for y'all's input regarding Sloan. I found the new one and I love it. I'll start scouring the used CD stores in town and see what else I can find. Now that I think about it, I think I heard and liked "Smeared" when it first came out, but apparently "Smeared" sounds nothing like the rest of their catalog and is widely considered their worst album. Do y'all agree? What do y'all think of their live CD? Is it worth getting? Well, I'm off to find some more Sloan CDs!

The "A-Sides Win" compilation? Perhaps the new one? Or should I start chronologically?

Would someone be so kind as to transcribe the song titles that are mentioned in that article? The image is too blurry on my computer to make out the song titles (or any other text). I sure would appreciate it!

No radio sessions or compilations allowed. 1. Seamonsters (most underrated album of the 90's? Perhaps...) 2. Bizarro (most underrated album of the 80's? Perhaps...) 3. Watusi (will someone reissue this damn thing, please?! the world needs to hear "So Long, Baby") 4. Torino (nice mix of TWP and Cinerama styles) 5. Mini EP (should've been a full-length cuz it's so damn good) 6. Saturnalia (marred by a few duds, but overall a wonderful way to say "goodbye for now") 7. Hit Parade 1 (TWP at their poppiest and horniest) 8. Hit Parade 2 (TWP at their noisiest, if that's a word) 9. Disco Volante (co

Why should I want to know his name? What difference does it make? You know I tried dead hard to keep away, I just had to call again Where did you go last night? Oh, what's that new place like? Okay, I won't ask anymore questions and then you cannot tell me lies Well they always need good men They're crying out for them It's not the sort of job I'd do myself, but then I'm not him Oh, he buys you pretty things And what does your mother think? I just can't bear to imagine you sharing a bed with him Tell me why should I be upset? Some kid I've never met We better sort this out before I go an

What, no Boyracer? Didn't Boyracer release 3 EPs on Sarah Records ("Pure Hatred '96," "From Purity to Purgatory," and "B is for Boyracer," I believe)? Otherwise, great compilation!

Anything by The Wedding Present would do the trick, especially the "Seamonsters" album.
