  1. That flag is a symbol of hate directed at all the God-fearing Christians who are being persecuted by this nefarious agenda.* * Yes, I have seen this expressed online numerous times.
  2. The article actually explains why it was the Astros. The Jeff Luhnow connection.
  3. I don't find that my love of music is waning, just the amount of time I have to devote to it. But discovering new artists and hearing new music is still as enriching and entertaining as it has always been.
  4. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Beck - Odelay The National - Alligator The Hold Steady - Separation Sunday Slobberbone - Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today
  5. As cliched as it may sound, religion really is the root of most of our problems. At least in the way it is used by a large majority of people.
  6. It's embarrassing. This is a great response, though: http://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/headlines/20150430-ex-gop-lawmaker-blisters-abbott-for-pandering-to-idiots-over-military-exercise.ece
  7. That looks like a great setlist. They even threw in a bathroom break in the middle (Impossible Germany). I might have to try to find a recording of this one. Sorry I missed it. But I live too far out to hit a late, midweek concert.
  8. SPOON 1. The Fitted Shirt 2. My Mathematical Mind 3. Don't You Evah 4. Knock Knock Knock 5. I Turn My Camera On
  9. Chronological? All fruits were created by God at the same time.
  10. The Jazz apple is the underrated king.
  11. Real Ale Hans' Pils is unquestionably the best. I also like Victory's Prima Pils for a more widely distributed one.
  12. That's a month old. A stupid bill filed by a stupid legislator. It was widely criticized by both sides and will likely die in committee without any action taken on it.
  13. That might be the single most overrated song in the Wilco catalog.
  14. It's hard for me to really gauge what is underrated, but off the top of my head these are three songs that I think belong in any conversation of best Wilco songs, but never seem to be brought up that often: Hotel Arizona Side With the Seeds Too Far Apart
  15. Stone's Enjoy By 4/20/15 is really good. It's nice that it's in 12 oz. bottles now.
  16. I would say Alligator. It's their best album IMO and probably the best entry point. After that, go with High Violet. Some people do find Boxer and Trouble Will Find Me to be too "same-y" sounding (for lack of a better way to put it), and if that was your initial hesitation about the band, I would start with those others. I love all of them, though.
  17. The amount of angst generated over missing a concert has been amazing. Especially for a band that hasn't put out a great album in over a decade.
  18. My go-to IPAs: Sculpin, Fresh Squeezed, Union Jack, Sucks...Great Divide's Rumble (so delicious) should be hitting stores soon. Real Ale's Lost Gold and Full Moon are both good, and I try to pick up Hops and Grain's Greenhouse IPA and Austin Beerworks' Fire Eagle whenever I'm in Austin.
  19. I just wanted to pause and say that...this is the most activity this board has seen in years. It's nice to see.
  20. Real Ale will not distribute outside the state. It's right there in their slogan. Jester King does some collaborations and will take their beer elsewhere, but they don't make enough to distribute regularly throughout Texas, much less other states. There's very little incentive for a Texas brewery to go outside the state, especially with huge markets here that are hard to completely cover. Saint Arnold tried it briefly (in Colorado of all places) and it failed miserably.
  21. That would be great to go to. Real Ale is great and is probably the best overall brewery in Texas. I love the redesign of their labels.
