  1. My wife doesn't hate Wilco per se, but she never pulls them off the shelf to listen to them. She enjoys the older stuff, i.e. A.M. and being there, but not so much anything after that.
  2. Here are some of my favorites in no particular order, so far, in my opinion: Boston Spaceships - The Planets are Blasted The Thermals - Now we can see Animal Collective - Merriweather... Phoenix - W.A.P. Wilco - The Album Son Volt - American Central Dust Morrissey - Years of Refussal Wavves - Wavves Sonic Youth - The Eternal The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - S/T Jason Lytle - Yours... Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit - S/T Handsome Furs - Face Control There are so many more records that I just haven't had time to listen to them all or had enough time top spend with them. Lots of new stuff
  3. Indeed, I was thinking something similar the other day. I saw a used copy at the local record store the other day and it made me smile. NP:
  4. Cosmos - Jar of Jam Ton of Bricks (new Robert Pollard album)
  5. It took me over two months to get the last buy early, get now from Matador. I finally got Pavement's BTS in February after many evil/nasty emails and much crap from Matador. Hopefully, it will be here on time!
  6. I just ordered mine. Cool shirt!
  7. In my opinion, the Boston Spaceship albums are totally up there with FaCE, if not better. I would get Brown Submarine first and then The Planets are Blasted. Both are stellar starting points for his best work but Brown Submarine get quite a bit of play around the house. You really have to be pretty choosie when considering Pollard's solo albums - there's a lot of crap to wade through in order to find the good stuff. I'm a big fan but a pretty high number of his songs are crap. His batting average has dropped considerably but his more recent works have incressed in quality. After FaCE,
  8. Man, I hope mine comes today. I got an email telling me that mine shipped the other day... Is the bonus LP like the Pavement begn? i.e., like a bootleg?
  9. That's his best album. It's so freaking great. I wish he woould take his time with more of his albums like he did with that one.
  10. Finally getting to listen to this after having it for a week.
  11. I would say the following three are great for starters: Gram Parsons- GP/Grievous Angel (A two cd on one disc set) The Byrds - Sweetheart of the Rodeo (There are many editions of this set) Flying Burrito Brothers - Anthology (it has the two FBB w/ Gram, one without and a bunch of unreleased tracks) All of these are rather inexpensive to purchase. I found them all for less than $10 apiece and are fairly easy to locate in my opinion, some you can buy brand new for even less than that, especially the Byrds and solo records.
  12. Ah man, my store had it for $9.99. They had the new Jason Lytle for $7.99. It shocked me that they had that.
  13. Amazon now says these vinyl reissues are coming out on August 25th now.
  14. Caught this sucker for $7.99 at Best Buy. I'm really, really liking it.
  15. Bingo. I also had difficulty using what.cd. I admit, I had no idea what I was doing and after 5-6 downloads, it would never let me download anything again. I guess I didn't know how to use it or what I was doing. There are still things I can't find using blogs, but I be damned if it's not a heck of a lot easier to use blogs.
