It is one of his collages. He recently put out a book of them but I haven't got it yet. Apparently, he's culling many of the titles from the artworks for his current album titles. It goes without saying, the artwork and album title are usually one in the same. NP:

Yeah, RP's covers are not as good as they used to be. NP:

So far, it's actually pretty good. It's an unfinished/unmastered version according to the source. Although on some of the songs I feel he could have tried a little harder on his vocals. I mean, no pun intended, he sings like a drunk on some of them.

My wife and I are kicking around the idea of seeing them in Asheville in two weeks. We haven't decided yet. It's free and less than an hour drive, so...

This baby just leaked. It's missing three songs, but...I hope it's good.

In interviews, I have read that he says that they'll always be together because they're all good friends and have fun when they're together. He seemed certain that the Old 97's will be an ongoing thing. Now, he just needs to be convinced that his solo career is worth putting the brakes on though.

Good God, that crap's expensive. I can't swing that kind of dough for that. I just asked my wife and she was like "ain't no way!"

His early stuff, to me at least, is unlistenable. I don't know if you have I'm Wide Awake It's Morning or Lifted... yet but those are the two I would start with. Also look for the Desaparecidos album. That's my favorite Oberst album.

This keeps getting better and better. Honestly, this is the first Wilco album I have almost instantaneously fallen in love with since YHF.

I haven't listened to this in 14+ years or so. I found the reissue for $8 new today. So I picked it up and it's much better than I remember it.

It's not too bad but I've only listened to it once. So, I guess it's too early for me to give an informed opinion. The guy sounds like Jeff Mangum though. NP:

No joke! I woke up this morning wanting to crank some R.E.M. My brother and I talk about it all the time: that compilation, more than any other comp. ever, makes the best case that this band is the greatest of all-time. NP:

I don't own a single album on the short list. Anything worth my time to check out?

Hey, I got my pre-order yesterday. I had no clue that it was going to be signed, which was cool. As for the PF review, I don't agree at all. This album is really solid and has all the things I like about SV. I didn't really like the Search at all, so this is a real treat to me.

Just finished this one and starting on Wilco (TA)...

It's good so far. I have only spinned the disc once but it sounds like Fader to my ears, but a little rougher.

Brendan Benson - My Old, Familiar Friend

I love his first two albums but his third one was way too polished for my taste. Hope this one is good. -
I've been intending to buy this and then I found it for a cool $7 on Saturday. I was happy. I've had Ride the Fader for years but could never find their fist album.

That record and the Japandroids album are both kicking my butt all sorts of way this summer. Love them both! NP:

Here's mine: YHF ST BT AGIB AM W(TA) MA 1&2 SBS I really like YHF, ST and BT fairly equally. Those are all three hard to beat. AGIB has grown on me quite a bit since it's release and has moved from the "do not like" to the "I like it a lot" category. A.M. is still in the "I like it a lot" category. While SBS has a special place in hell for me. I don't know what it is about that album that I dislike so, but it's pretty terrible in my book. It does have it's redeeming moments but I be darned if it still gets on my nerves. I guess it's the lamented "dad rock" effect.

I think that if you're a fan of the Lemonheads, it's a solid purchase, but it's just not his best. I always felt that the covers Evan can throw out there during a concert are always great. The track list is just kinda meh. Maybe if he had recorded stuff that he had played over the years, it would be different.
