Yeah, it's probably a top 3 for me. I still like The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Japandroid albums just a touch better.

She did think that the scalping stuff was a little much and did threaten to kill me for taking her to see something that gross. While not as violent as Kill Bill, which after a while becomes numbing, I would still say that it's a pretty violent movie.

I know what you mean. I just made a list without counting and then I whittled it down to the 54 songs I couldn't live without. And yes, that Keene Brothers record is the bomb. I am not familiar with Tommy's work at all but he needs to do more collaborative work with Pollard.

Agreed. every record is the big return and that gets me excited every time but I am almost always disappointed. To hear the mega fans tell it the man is batting .1000. I believe one should view each Pollard release with a critical eye and not be force-fed some of the crap that is fed us. His record sells have declined to the point where I am surprised that the small # of fans he has left can support his art. The man's last Merge records sold around 2000 or so copies. Last track on Brown Submarine. I'll have to do a top 50 or 100. It will be heavily dominated by the holy trinity (B000, AL,& UTBUTS). But for now, I'll jump in and grade the solo albums and some of the off-the-beaten-path records that I have. Most of these I have gotten in the year or so since Brown Submarine has been released to see what I've missed. As you can tell from the grades, I didn't miss much. That song is the bane of his catalog, in my opinion. When I heard it the first time I was like "Really? Really Bob?" I hear what your saying and agree with you. I dropped off the RP radar after Normal Happiness and didn't really get back on until the BS record. I thought the re-recordings were cool, though not as good as the originals. Then there are songs like Go For the Exit, which is one of his best that he's recorded in a long, long time. Probably in my top 50 RP songs. I have since gone back and bought many of the albums that I had missed when I drifted away from the RP scene.

The Cosmos disc is okay, but like most things Pollard nowadays, it was soon forgotten. Hardwood Floors - I agree with your grading but I am surprised that you graded The Boston Spaceship albums so low. Out of all his solo material, those two albums, along with FaCE and The Keene Brother's album, are superior quality in comparison. The Boston Spaceships have restored my faith in Uncle Bob, somewhat. He still issues solo albums that he should keep to himself, but the band dynamic is truly a huge plus for Pollard. I think the fans should challenge him: 1 record, 1 year. try it. Edit

Lately I find any OTC record too much of an intellectual exercise to enjoy. I still like Cubist Castle but not as much as I used to. I have to be in a certain mood or head space to be able to digest their records. My top 3 E6 records are as follows: 1. NMH - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea 2. Beulah - When Your Heartstring Breaks 3. Elf Power - When the Red King Comes

I have been finding some really great deals lately. I try to keep it under $7 (including shipping) and have come away with some really great albums. Some recent steals have been about 5 Mountain Goats cds, 2 Jeremy Enigk cds, 2 Wrens cds, and a Silver Jews cd all for less than $7 including shipping = awesome.
