What ya think about this one? I don't like it as much as Emoh, but I think it stretches out a bit more in the music department. NP: The new "new" Vic Chesnutt album recorded with Jonathan Richman and Tommy Larkin.

Smashing Pumpkins? No? The Pumpkins were my band in the 90's. Gish > Siamese Dream > Mellon Collie. Let's forget that Adore was made and that's a pretty strong output.

I believe his batting average was a lot higher but he has done a lot to diminish that record in recent years. I agree, the man is a solid songwriter and has made more than his fair share of classic songs and his GBV years are nearly great. However, currently out of the 2000 songs to his credit, I think that objectively speaking, there's a lot of crap you have have to wade through to find those diamonds. I seriously believe, as I've stated before, we the fans should urge the man to edit! A petition or something...a drunken dare may be more appropriate. I went through the Pollard meg

I'm really excited about this. I loved seeing these guys in concert. Now I just have to convince the wife we need to see them Asheville.

I think it would take a really good documentary about Pollard for him to get more exposure or at least some of what he deserves. I think he's great song writer but I always think back to batting average when I think of Pollard's body of work. He hits a home run every so often, gets on base a few times, but man does he ever strike out and often. And Suitcase 3 is out on Nov. 3. Get you pre-orders here. Get your two previews here.

I'm on a Pavement kick today as well. I almost put that on this morning but his solo record beat it out. NP: Haven't listened to this in forever...it hasn't aged particularly well either.

Is it so wrong to not like The Beatles?
brianjeremy replied to Wild Frank's topic in Someone Else's Song
It was always Beatles vs. Stones ideal in my house growing up. My older brother is 16 years my senior and I followed his example, being that the Stones were the best band of all-time and the Beatles were a "faggy" band in his opinion. My brother, a great example of a role model, huh? When I was a boy, I probably could quote you chapter and verse of the Stones. I never liked the Beatles, much less listened to them, but as a teenager but my cousin was a mega fan and exposed me to them often. I liked the later albums (Sgt. Peppers and on)and still like them more than the earlier stuf -
