  1. His Dark Materials - good Dr Who type (when Dr Who is/was good) entertainment. More time to fully develop the plot than the movie flop. Great child actress and believable CGI for daemons & bears etc.
  2. Only because my own frail psyche needs your own daily unadulterated odes to joy (and a good brew of char).
  3. Augie March - Bootikins (Havens Dumb had a few great songs too, but was a bit overproduced to my ears)
  4. Been listed above but I like this version as I'm a big fan of Glenn Richards https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GALNvntMEeU Also St Etienne:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhXJb6S3z38 And in the so bad it's good from the 70s category:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyy0Leo3Lw4 Don't worry, you'll be singing it to yourself later ...
  5. Frosty the Sunloathe Jesus, Eggnog I Saw Mommy Kissing Jane Smiley's Boyfriend Red-Eyed and Nosed (ft. Rudolf the Red Lunged Reindeer) Lego is Everywhere (Beware) (As kids open their presents - have you ever stepped on a Lego brick with bare feet) What's the Amazon Got In Store Pie Holding Swede (A bit bland I admit, but economical) ELF (Every Little Fing - the Cockney version) Notree'severgonnastandinmyway(again) Impossible Garment Fit, Unlikely Refund
  6. There was a solo show where JT introduced a game where you had to name a band and then imagine the kind of bowel movement from which the name arose. He offered up 'Led Zeppelin' as an easy starter. 'Hall & Oates', 'String Cheese Incident', 'Muddy Waters' were others amongst many mentioned that I can't remember. If I were there I would have gone with 'Blood Sweat & Tears'.
  7. ^^^ I seem to remember they have been continental US before, though that could mean coughing up for travel and overnight stay costs too.
  8. Well, I had shaken it out of my mind until you brought it back up again. Doh! Still, there are worse big hit songs out there.
  9. Mention of 'giant disco ball' made Disco Duck pop into my head. Now I can't get rid of it. It's going to be one of those days ...
  10. So that's him, Neil Young, and Pete Waterman who I know of as model train geeks in the music world. I might if I had the time/space. Not so much for the trains but I used to enjoy building/crafting models.
  11. Rod the Mod(eller) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-50403561 A man of unexpected talents.
  12. Which bit was taped? JT certainly had me fooled lip-syncing to Milli Vanilli standard.
  13. Describing the pit as an amenity made me laugh, thinking back to those times before the pit got gentrified.
  14. There is a rumour that the pre-show rituals involve owls and peanut butter spread, so maybe peanut butter cookies are a good choice.
  15. No parking ticket, but your left rear indicator light isn't working and the treads of a couple of tyres looks dodgy. Can we also see your insurance please?
  16. No grain of salt needed for me when reading your reviews. Just a mug of Horlicks and a mogadon.
  17. I’ll see your Budgie and raise you a Sassafras (or Young Marble Giants).
  18. That's funny re: The Alarm. I was only thinking to myself as I read the first couple of lines: 'On the plus side, they're Welsh (north Wales mind you). On the minus side, the hair.' Then I got to the punchline of your paragraph. I bought 68 Guns back in the day. It was all downhill from there in a Billy Idol version of punk sort of way.
