  1. Dropped Wilco HQ a line asking that they publish the full 50 at some point after the event. They replied positively - will put it to the band. That would be fun to see.
  2. I think where I'm going it'll be The Frog Cohrus piped all day every day.
  3. I do much prefer the melodic version, but am interested if there was any logic behind that decision? Simply too many other loud or long songs for one setlist? E.g AoA could fit both categories now. But not even occassionally in rotation? Has JT simply decided the song should always be presented in that (original) form now?
  4. Wings Over The World on BBC4 Sunday night. Also available here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9TQh-sAoSg
  5. If I was there i'd like to watch Glenn raising a sweat on Candy's Room, and As JT was a teenage Clash fan, maybe I Fought The Law.
  6. Patti Griffin - American Kid Streaming from The Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/rockandpopmusic/10038631/Patty-Griffin-American-Kid-exclusive-album-stream.html
  7. I see, then the answer would be that the south is usually referred to as the 'soft south', and its inhabitants 'soft southerners' by anyone from the north. Mostly due to the historical general increase in heavy industrialisation and therefore 'harder' working class folk as you progress north of the Watford Gap. Probably that sort of thing did not register with me as memorable since it is such a given for Brits. By the time you get to glasgow fighting is more or less a hobby. Surely you remember this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gMJBQoHJ4E Not a fan of Billy Connolly generally, but th
  8. In what sense? Soft London-centric media-basing south-east ignoring the rest of Britain? Accents?
  9. Thanks for sharing! (and nice poster). Is this the same location from which originated that fantastic photo I remember of JT humbly waiting in the toilet queue. Classic.
  10. "Last week the band said it was dropping the price of thousands of premium seats – "flexing" in industry parlance – rather than play to half-empty arenas. The situation was so dire, one insider revealed, that the band's own allotment of tickets was released because of a lack of requests." http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/may/04/rolling-stones-face-pay-cut-ticket-prices-slashed
  11. Last week not bad, and finally an enjoyable one. Hurrah!

  14. The love affair continues. Trying to get my niece into them, will be interesting to see what she makes of it, being their age but not really having been exposed to proper r'n'b before.
  15. Somewhere on the west coast - don't know: wasn't there :-)But I do have fine memories of a particular west coast burrito purveyor myself ...
  16. Nice. Thanks. What is it with this music? I wouldn't be interested in this sort of analysis for anyone else. The Beatles music is just in my DNA somehow ever since they became the first band I got into in my teenage years. Lucky choice :-)
  17. Bugger. Lawnmover sales plummet. My own favourite
  18. http://quirkytravelguy.com/rock-roll-hall-fame-pictures-inside/ Seems like it won't be worn any time soon then without a quick requisition.
  19. Would be good to hear "Australia's most notorious fan" called out :-) They have the setlist with the timings shown in the page, so it would lead me to believe that they may have broadcast the whole thing at some point? It must be out there ...
  20. Link to the interview here:- http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/liveset/wilco-live-in-melbourne/4643484 Listening now ...
  21. A high energy half hour set at Record Store Day at 4pm. At 8pm Paul Weller is on and the Strypes are backing him - which shows what he thinks of them. Unfortunately could not stay in town for that and had missed out on the required wristband anyway, but really glad I caught the Strypes. A quick meet and greet afterwards - nice lads I'm glad to say. Christ Difford was there too - he's working with them in some capacity.
