Watched Gatiss's An Adventure In Time And Space - behind the scenes of the early days featuring female producer Verity Lambert and William Hartnell. Really well made with period atmosphere and some nice touches. -

Aimee Mann - Union Chapel, one of London's cosiest little venues. She was there last night too, but it's too early for the internet to ahve any reviews it seems. There are some pictures of her in hotpants and fishnets. Not her best look and not appropriate for church :-)

Almost all week the Beeb has had Macca's recent hour long Maida Vale show on repeat on one of its digital channels. its a nice set, and for once the new songs stand up none too shabbily. I applied to get a free ticket two or three weeks ago (just as I often do with Later With Jools', but no joy.

Good man. I have to say that I was a bit dissappointed with the album - 5 or so excellent tracks and then some of their other new material lets them down a bit after the quality of the covers that they had made their own live. Still, they've got time on their side. However, anyone who gets the chance should see them live for an old school rock and roll experience and fantastic guitar\bass\harmonica playing. A really really great time.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but here goes. The whole show, only slightly spoilt for me whenever they show the crowd - i hate that segregated tiering of the audience that has become common at festivals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szYGMOvvCJc

Some great video links in here (though I say so myself). One of those people/musicians who just lifts your heart/spirits. Such bad news ... http://viachicago.org/topic/48633-wilko-johnson/?hl=wilko Watch the doc Oil City Confidential too if you get the chance.

Yes, I quickly grew to hate that chugga-crash sound back in the day and The Travelling Wilburys left me cold. I did like some ELO when there was still some novelty to their sound. I watched the BBC doc on TV since they are usually so well done that even the ones relating to artists I am not particularly fond of are interesting. There was relatively little actually on ELO, and a surprising amount on that one incident with the remaining Beatles. However, he did come across as a nice ego-less sort of guy, and I warmed to that. In the full doc there were several parts where he is apparently (and

I never followed it religiously, but enjoyed alot of what I saw, though it could be a bit hit & miss, especially the first series. It was funny to me though, as since the first 2 series were actually set in Cardiff, the locations were even more obviously familiar than many of those seen in Dr Who itself. The final series based in the US was poor, so I hope they don't just give you that one. -
