Electric Soft Parade - Idiots Nice summer sound - Delays meets Crowded House sort of, but quality does fade after the first third

Not that I was there, and not that its a good thing or a bad thing (though no doubt you'll feel bad thing), but these people do exist - I am one! Theres a whole ton of stuff that i never got to hear at the time and have never felt the need to explore - either through them appearing at a time when i was not listening to too much music, or sticking to other genres, or that felt too American suburban in its zeitgeist for me to relate too - much as The Jam seemed to resonate perfectly with me here when not so much in the US. In that list i would include The Replacements, Pavement, The Pixies, Pear

Some sort of interview going on that may surface sometime ... Aah the rug ... Always a problem to get it through customs to Europe it seems ... If this is the 'Loft installation' thing, it doesn't quite put across the crowded/chaotic nature of the real place does it

To Wilco and to Dan Lynch, those across the pond salute you ...

Some footage emerging. Pretty good quality. ROADRUNNER! And to answer my question from above, yes it did get the classic intro, though that was restarted :-) Do I remember someone saying that Miss Y would be there? JoJo lovers rejoice ... Bird Can Sing take 2 Waterloo Sunset Peace Love and Understanding Fear The Reaper Others from same YouTube user can be found there but those are my favs

So many questions... e.g. Roadrunner [The Modern Lovers] - did it get the classic count in? Any members of the band having obvious joyous moments on particular songs that might have been favorites of theirs? I can imagine Pat would have got into the spirit of a few songs ... Any points where anyone obviously found part of a particular song challenging? Probably they're too good to have that problem. Banter corner? Thanks for all the feedback from those attending.

This is strange (same photo too):- http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/C-Notes/June-2013/Letter-To-Tweedy/

You mean you're in shock that JT let a 'wardrobe stylist' anywhere near him. I am.

A short message to each and every one of you who will be there (especially for the Friday night shenanigans) I'm not really the sort of person who goes for the arty-farty MOCA stuff, nor 'artisan food', and the 19th century industrial architecture is a bit depressing to those who have plenty of it in this country, but Wilco and Neko Case alone is a fine combination indeed, and chilling with some Via Chicago members would be a whole lot of fun. Enjoy!

Axe renovation and sharpening? Be careful this weekend folks!

Bit of blurb that's not worth copying here, and the embedded interview can only be listed to there, so just the link:- http://wxrt.cbslocal.com/2013/06/15/exclusive-jeff-tweedy-talks-backstage-at-bonaroo-listen/ "There's no jamming in Wilco" 70+ pages of requests for the SS Friday night Spencer = cheap drummer Mavis to call Bob so that he's nice to Wilco (tongue in cheek) Confirmed intention to mix up the acts at the Americanarama Work on next record officially delayed because of the above

Who's at your imaginary dinner party?
Albert Tatlock replied to lost highway's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Something like:- Spike Milligan Lennon on a good day, otherwise nice George Garrison Keillor Alan Bennett Peter Cook Barry Cryer Michael Palin Kathy Burke Guy Garvey Johnny Vegas Emma Thompson Gore Vidal Should be a belly laugh or two in that lot, but with some complex personalities for deeper interest -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7dSnWejbtE Saw them once during their 80-81 revival. Without doubt the loudest concert i've attended and bloody marvellous. the Clash launching themselves towards the mics for I Fought The Law a close second. Suppose Folsom Prison Blues at the famous show there must be one of the most atmospheric openers. The same from San Quentin has a better video available though. Love those perfect simple guitar solos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5Ts4M3irWM

It's easy to get jealous about these events if you did not attend. It's easy to tease or gloat if you did attend. I am in the former camp. I'm inclined to believe that Bart meant that the money could be additional money for the charity. Everything is up to the Tweedy's of course and everyone is aware fo the real purpose of the events so there's is little point in getting worked up about what is a good thing in a bad, bad world.

I don't think any stoner would be focused enough to be able to make a list that long ... -

Wilco — 6/1/13, Nelsonville, OH (Nelsonville Music Festival)
Albert Tatlock replied to bböp's topic in After The Show
Well it might have been curtailed but someone enjoyed it alot:- http://thepost.ohiou.edu/content/skeptical-obsessed-wilco-fan Not actually worth reading, but the line "I’m still not sure how such an unenthusiastic singer could have me so entranced in the music or how a group that seems so straight and laid back on records could use sounds in ways I’ve never experienced" tickled me. decent picture though. -
Not as shoe-gazey as that one track. I would say if you like Elbow you will like them too. Emphasis on gritty lyrics. They should have been massive instead of those cliche-merchants Oasis.

I Am Kloot are a Manchester band (though primarily the vehicle for John Bramwell) that have been going for a while but never had the big breakthrough, but generally well received by critics. They are friends with Elbow, and have had a couple of albums produced by Guy Garvey etc. They are generally downbeat and sort of more like Elbow were before they had some success. http://iamkloot.com/ This is my favourite of theirs though from a while back:-
