Sad to say, I have been in Logan Square twice in the last month or so. Once for dinner at Lula Cafe (wait at Longman & Eagle was "3 hours" -- at some point don't you just say we're not taking any more reservations?) and once to see Grand Budapest Hotel at the Logan Theater. I am nobody's idea of a hipster though.

TWEEDY — 6/24/14, Nashville, TN (Ryman Auditorium)
Cold as Gasoline replied to bböp's topic in After The Show
I always read this stuff, but don't chime in because I have nothing interesting to add. But it doesn't mean I don't love and appreciate all the little details! Thanks, Paul, for giving us our fix. -

Telluride Blugrass Fest Stream, anyone?
Cold as Gasoline replied to dagwave's topic in Someone Else's Song
Just loved that DRM set. They did my favorite "Ruby". Seeing Gillian Welch in a couple of weeks, but boy I wish the DRM would make it to Chicago. They seem to hit every place in the south but never up here. Just adore Dave's guitar playing. -
I'm really interested too!

Missed a bunch of things I wanted to catch, but listening to Dave Rawlings Machine right now and all is good. -

TWEEDY — 6/10/14, Washington, DC (Lincoln Theatre)
Cold as Gasoline replied to bböp's topic in After The Show
Saw this nice write-up of the show, with some interesting tidbits and a photo gallery to boot. http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/artsdesk/music/2014/06/12/photos-jeff-tweedy-and-minus-5-lincoln-theatre/ This is pretty cool: "Tweedy had a busy day on Tuesday before the show. An old colleague of mine who works at Brooks Brothers said the Tweedys came into the store to buy shirts earlier that day after getting a last minute lunch invite from the White House." -
A trailer for a new (terrible looking) sitcom on FX called "Married" has "I Might" playing in the background. Heard the tail end when I went to watch last night's Colbert on my DVR.

Thanks so much. Listened once through and sounds great. Already forming my favorites (World Away, New Moon, Diamond Light).

Love the new single. Busting with excitement to hear the rest of the album.

I think a lot of people don't even know they sell tickets now OR they figure "why should I pay for a seat when I can sit on the lawn for free?" The problem with that logic is that you get what you pay for, and when you're searching the lawn for a postage-stamp sized piece of real-estate surrounded by drunk kids who aren't interested enough to actually listen to the show and can't see the stage anyway, you'll be saying "why didn't I buy a seat?"

Califone Living Room Show Tour
Cold as Gasoline replied to M. (hristine's topic in Someone Else's Song
My place is not suitable, but man, how much fun would it be to host one of these? Maybe someone here is interested? http://www.undertowmusic.com/host-needed-califone-living-room-show-chicago-june-8/ -
Couldn't get a premium ticket (added it to my cart and immediately got an error saying no more tickets of this type available), but got GA. Close enough!

Oh yes, FOMO is the only reason I bought one Unfortunately I have never been to the NFF before, so I don't know how much in demand these things are. I'm also trying to figure out the timing. The aftershows start at 9PM, which makes me think the regular headliners must wrap up awfully early. Anyone have insight on this? I also feel compelled for the Watkins Family Hour on Sunday, as a Nickel Creek fan, so I will probably buy a preemptive FOMO (on Chris Thile) ticket for that too.

Agree too. Bought tickets for both of the aftershows that went on sale today. The Milk Carton Kids are a no-brainer for me (love them) but the other one is basically anonymous, billed as "Heartbreaker Banquet W/ Electric Lady/robot Fondue" (any guesses?) I'll take a chance and I can surely unload the ticket if it's something I'm not too enthused about.

I put my name in but haven't heard, so I guess I didn't make the cut. Glad you were able to get in there. I'll have to take my chances when they go on sale later this week.

Great news! So glad to hear you got your car in (almost) one piece. May the good luck keep on rolling!
