I have one, but it is on the back of the laptop I'm currently typing on. Bought it from the kung fu site.

I absolutely love that! Best wishes and luck to you with your treatments, C_S.

Just got home and wanted to report that Mavis whipped the crowd into a frenzy, despite the fact that she was clearly ailing with her new knee, which she has dubbed "the Hideout". No Jeff Tweedy, however I did spot Spencer Tweedy chatting with a friend during Neko Case's set! Not quite the same thing, I know. Just heard about 30 minutes of Neko's set because I needed to catch a train. Trampled by Turtles (whom i'd never heard before) sounded really good too. More fun tomorrow.

I met some new friends at the JD McPherson show I went to on Monday, and they volunteer every year for one of the charity organizations that benefit from the block party. They said people have been speculating that he might (though agree, he is probably focused on his family this week.) At the very least, I hope Neko Case sits in on a song or two with Mavis. Had such a fantastic time last year, and hope it doesn't rain tomorrow. Have fun at the event, Louie!

Deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear son. It's hard to make sense of losing someone so suddenly. Wishing the best for you and your family.

As someone who is both a boss and an underling, I've thought about this. While I've never had a conversation like "a circle needs a center", I have had conversations like "perhaps this is not the job you have the right skill set for, and you would probably be more successful in another profession." It's not a conversation I would wish on anyone with a soul. But it is sometimes necessary in order to get actual work done, whether that work is creating the best music possible or achieving some business objective that you are obligated to deliver, and accept pay for. There is nothing wrong

Drove from Chicago to Appleton, Wisconsin this past weekend just to hear JTE and wanted to share what was a highlight of my summer. Cory Chisel was the impetus behind the Mile of Music festival in Appleton, and it was pretty spectacular what he was able to achieve. I thought it would be a handful of mediocre local bands, but (at least the Saturday I attended) packed with talent and local charm. I especially loved the band PHOX which played a free show in Houdini Square in the middle of town. The vocalist was subtle and jazzy and lovely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Jcp1ViS0Pk Can you

Was out at dinner last week on a lovely summer night, sitting on the outside deck of the restaurant (a 100+ year old storefront) with some friends. Had a beautiful green salad with lobster and a Revolution IPA. As we were getting ready to leave "At My Window, Sad and Lonely" came on. I told my friends I needed to stay until it was over. Perfect.

Greatest live acts list - Wilco number 12
Cold as Gasoline replied to Plumplechook's topic in Just A Fan
I recognize that footage from the "Sunken Treasure" DVD. Agree really poor choice of video to demonstrate what the band does live, and the examples of what thrills the crowd are dated. Still glad Wilco ranked so highly. -

Great photos. The Newport lineup this year was amazing! Wish I could have been there. -

Yes, those covers have served them spectacularly so far in the month or two since. What a brilliant idea!
