Every so often I'll whip out "Fun House" by The Stooges and my first thought usually is, holy crap, this came out in 1970!? It must of blown people's minds. We watched episode 1 of "Wild Wild Country" last night. The freaky part for me is the big beaming smiles on all the cult members faces. And the "materialistic spiritualism" statement made me laugh out loud. Looking forward to part 2 tonite.

Watched "Nebraska" with Bruce Dern last night. I'm not sure if its a fair comparison but I liked "Lucky" with HDS about a thousand times more.

Was listening to 3/16/73 last night. Solid show. It cracked me up when Bobby starts chiding the crowd for throwing joints onstage. He says something like "Isnt that stuff expensive?" Just another reason to love the GD.

Was reading an article about Van's "Astral Weeks" recently and in it was mentioned a live album he put out back in '74 called "Its too Late to Stop Now". I've been listening to it this week and am stunned that I've never heard of this before. His band is amazing and Van is in top form. He blends so many genres of music into something quite beautiful and unique. My hat is off to Van and his band. Run and listen to this asap, you wont regret it.

Yeah, that tune was always the highlight of the concert. Halford certainly has some pipes. Havent seen JP since '87. I wonder if Halford can still hit those notes?
