Today I ate a sammich (beef on rye) from a local deli and now my stomach is making very strange noises. REALLY strange noises.
  4. I read recently that "Blood on the Tracks" is being made into a film. Hhhmmm.
  5. Heh, I like to see fear in my enemies.
  6. Finished season 4 of Better Call Saul on Tues night. Another great season, next season will be a barn burner for sure.
  7. Go Devo, Prine, MC5 and the Zombies!
  8. A discussion at a recent Mindfullness meeting prompted me to listen to "A Love Supreme" for the first time last night. Holy cow, that is some intense music!
  9. Thanks to a guilty verdict, Chicago wont (hopefully) burn this weekend. I was kinda sweating this decision, knowing how many murderous cops have gotten off the hook lately.

Today, I'm thinking about the one in a lifetime experience me and my family shared last night. We were able to see hundreds and hundreds of Monarch butterflies roosting in the trees of a nearby forest. This doesn't ordinarily happen in the Midwest but the theory is that hurricane Florence disrupted the migration of eastern and southeastern monarchs and pushed them here. A very peaceful and otherworldly experience. We may go back tonite to experience it again. For those interested, its in Midewin Prairie, near the Iron Bridge parking lot.
  13. Anyone else see the Cubs game last night? One of the announcers called a Kris Bryant home run and I'll be damned, Bryant stepped up and hit one. Too cool.
  14. Raising Arizona was the first film my college roommates and I saw on a rented VCR (they did that back in the 80s, rented VCRs). That flick altered our language and speech patterns for a long time afterwards...ah, good times!
  15. Watched Raising Arizona last nite with the family. Still holds up, funny stuff
  16. I'm excited about Nick Cage's new flick, "Mandy". Hope to see it soon
  17. Just found out my buddy who lives 15 miles from New Bern who decided to stay put is doing ok
  18. Man, I missed the Judas Priest/Deep Purple show. JP was THE band me and my bros were into back in the early 80s. Turbo Lover was the last tour I saw then the Grateful Dead came into my world and that was that. Saw DP twice in 86. I still say that was the most successful reunion I ever saw. The record and those shows were great.
  19. Tie yourself to a tree with roots, you aint goin nowhere
  20. I loved his acting chops in "Gator". RIP Burt!
  21. I hope the author does the right thing and step up, reveal who he/she is and resign. Otherwise he/she continues to be an enabler of chaos and destruction.

Today I'm thinking about my Grateful Dead tour buddy. He passed away yesterday from the ravages of acute alcoholism. 54 years old. What a shame.
