  1. As much as I love baseball (longtime White Sox season ticket holder) I'm actually kind of dreading this season. I don't hold out much hope for the White Sox -- 83 wins would seem to be a successful season on the Southside and the hated Cubs are seemingly loaded. The Northside hype train is barreling down the track. What could possibly go wrong? Right, Cub fans? What could possibly go wrong? *insert diabolical laughter*

I'm going a week from tonight in Chicago. I agree with the prior posts on the Quadrophenia tour. It was excellent. I feel like this really will be the last go around and tour for them and wanted one last chance to see them (though the "last tour" chatter has been going around since Keith died -- has there ever been a band who has had so many "farewell tours"?). I'm looking forward to seeing them again in a melancholy sort of way.
  3. ^^^ "Entertaining" in a "scare the sh*t out of you" kind of way. Like really bad turbulence.
  4. Shovels and Rope opened for Isbell in Chicago and played a 45 minute (or so) set. And they were quite good!
  5. Sadly, for me the general election is coming down to voting for the lesser of two evils. There's not a single candidate still on the board that I'm really excited about.
  6. Got tickets for when he comes to Chicago in April.
  7. Jason Isbell tonight. My wife's favorite.
  8. DougC -- Read the CNN story. The ranch owner clarified what he meant by "over his head." It's not the same as "over his face." Winston wins the thread with his exclusive photos!
  9. The report was that a pillow was found "over his head;" not "over his face." Maybe a better choice of words would have been a pillow was "above his head" or "between the top of his head and the headboard." There's nothing to this non-story.
  10. ^^^ I listened to Live at :Leeds earlier this week. It's my favorite live album. The sound on the enhanced version is fantastic,
  11. ^^^ And I hope you're the only person to say it. Regardless of whether you agreed with hiis opinions, the man was a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court and doesn't serve to be called a POS.
  12. As per the Chicago Tribune (can't seem to paste the link). The buildings on the cover of YHF are officially Chicago landmarks. Wilco was mentioned in the article (which I can't seem to paste). FWIW, I look directly at Marina City while sitting at my work desk. So I've got that going for me -- which is nice.
  13. ^^^ How's the new Iggy? I picked up tickets to see him in April.
