  2. The whole "Cult of Theo" narrative is starting to wear me out. Has he been successful with two franchises that hadn't won a World Series for decades until he got there? Absolutely. But he's benefited tremendously from working for ownership that has essentially given him a blank check to assemble a team. Jason Heyward? Terrible signing/contract. Tyler Chatwood? Terrible signing/contract. Signing two pitchers with a history of injuries (Morrow and Darvish) to mega contracts? Terrible decisions that ownership allowed him to partially erase by spending even even more money to obtain Murp
  3. I'm saddened by how partisan and polarized virtually every public institution has become.
  4. Yeah, I caught them at a New Years Eve Show in Chicago close to 20 years ago. Jaw-dropping. I still can't get over how Dana played two different saxes at the same time ("circular breathing"?!).
  5. Man, I miss Mark Sandman and Morphine. Loved that band.
  6. Been watching Season One of The Knick with Clive Owen. Bono's daughter (Eve Hewson) has a pretty juicy role -- though every time she appears on screen I break out in a U2 song (annoys the crap out of my wife).
  7. Great, rocking show at SPACE - a small ( approx. 200 seats) venue with great sound in Evanston, IL. . Alejandro mixed in about five tracks off the new album, "The Crossing" -- all of which sounded great live. He played with Don Antonio, the band that supported him on The Crossing (and also served as the opener). The band is comprised of five Italian musicians all of whom were excellent -- especially the sax player and guitarist (Don Antonio). Alejandro closed with a blistering version of the Velvet Undreground's "Rock & Roll." I've never seen my wife dance so hard! Great night -- as
