  1. Go ahead and flip Green and Maladroit, and I don't think I'd disagree with you. Though I might give Green an even 6. Make Believe wasn't very good, but there are still some good songs on it. Actually, I'll go: Pinkerton: 10 Blue: 10 (Yeah, I think they are both perfect records) Maladroit: 8 Green: 6 Make Believe: 4 I'm into whole numbers.
  2. Man, I will still never understand the Maladroit hate. That's a damn fine pop record. "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" is so much fucking fun. One thing you won't be able to criticize Weezer for on this album is being comfortable.
  3. How long can they keep this up?
  4. I'm here until Sunday night. Trying to see if I've got the money to make it to the show.
  5. I might be there tomorrow night.
  6. Of course the 7-0 game you leave in the bottom of the 8th because it's freezing is the one where the rookie finishes by hitting for the cycle.
  7. So, I wasn't out and about, but I've got the movie "A Guy Thing" on in the background on FuseTV and "Kamera" plays in a scene with Jason Lee and Julia Stiles. Surprising, for sure.
  8. A movie would have to actively insult me to make me think it wasn't worth 8 dollars.
  9. People can bring their dogs to the game. It's pretty self explanatory.
  10. It was really good. Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges are fantastic. RDJ is absolutely hysterical. And the SFX are incredible.
  11. I would agree with all of those. We've got some stupid fucking fans. "Hermida sux! Amezaga 4 MVP!!" Idiots. And Dolphins Stadium is terrible.
  12. Did Against Me! have a long history of saying "We'll never sign to a major label" or did their fans assume that because they ironically named their album after Axl Rose? I honestly don't know, and I'm not sure it would matter for me. I suppose I could understand that they "sold out," it just doesn't matter to me. 17 year old Johnny Punkface says "Man, I'm just going to live off the kindness and generosity of strangers. I'm never getting a job, fuck that, I don't want to be a part of the machine." 21 year old Johnny Punkface says "Oh shit, my idealogies 4 years ago were pretty extreme. U
  13. It's easy to be idealistic when you're a 17 year old kid with an acoustic guitar, like their lead singer was when he started. He's 27 now, and I'm going to assume he's at least thought about his family and future a little bit. Hard to support anarchy when you actually have real things to worry about. As for the too ignorant comment, you're main beef still seems to be that you don't like the album. Yeah, you also think they changed their message, whatever. If they released an album you liked, I think you'd be much less likely to be angry at them. I don't really see them changing their mess
  14. Sorry, I can't swallow "I don't like their new record" as an example of how they sold out. And yeah, in my opinion the term "Selling out" is always bullshit. Any artist deserves to be able to make a decent (or even excessive, if someone is willing to pay it) living. What it comes down to is taste. People who think their albums post "selling out" are bad will cry about it, and those who do like them won't give a shit.
  15. So you don't like the new album, then. And instead of just saying "I don't like the album," you have to try to pretend like there's some big fucking crusade going on behind you not liking the album. I think this is probably their best album. So tell me why, without saying "blah blah blah the album sucks", they've sold out. I don't see how they've changed their approach, aside from actually make some money off their records so they can make a decent living.
  16. Anyone who uses the term "sell out" when talking about music has no brain.
  17. Must make it especially awkward when you pretend to like all of those hip hop records so the kids will think you are cool.
  18. So they didn't want someone else making money off of their records? Just seems like any time a band moves to a major label and thus has the resources to record an album that doesn't sound like shit, they've sold out. I think the whole punk mentality regarding "selling out" is some of the biggest bullshit in music, and it has been for 20+
  19. How the hell do you sell out?
  20. That'd be pretty cool, thanks!
  21. This might not be a blaspheme, but it's definitely sort of nuts: I would be willing to take a full year or more off the end of my life to go back to see Bruce Springsteen in the late 70's. Also: I've never seen a video of Matt Sharp with Weezer where he didn't look like a total fucking prick.
  22. Christ, that's a life changer of a show. "Rosalita" is the greatest song anyone has ever made, and "Jungleland" and "Thunder Road" are right fucking there.
