I'm about 4 chapters in. Very good so fa, better than most of this sort of thing. The story about not being able to get in to see the Ramones is priceless. & very accurate I think. I hung out with the Ramones a bit after a show just before Dee Dee quit. They obviously weren't getting along. Johnny stormed out to walk (long ways) back to the hotel. The way Jeff characterizes Dee Dee & Joey were exactly how they talked & acted. Very funny: "its raining, let me get my galoshes" haha. I would bet Joey actually said that. The show with Replacements opening for X sounds like it was a doo

I haven't started reading the book yet (in the middle of the latest John Sandford, a fave) but I flipped through it. A little disappointed that there are no pictures!

here we go again. north american tour in the spring. 14-16 shows. luckily, seattle has made the cut this time. the stones have been an important part of my life & i'll be there. i've seen them over 20 times since 1978. i know they are well past their glory days but i'm sure it will still be fun. woo hoo!

Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.
chuckrh replied to LouieB's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
lots of meat products there, haha. if i were going i would make a pilgrimage to Buddy Guy's Legends blues club. Buddy is a national treasure & he's getting up there in age. he was 1 of the last of the blues guys to come out of the cotton fields down south & migrate to chicago. IMHO 1 of the greatest guitar players ever. i've seen him several times & he is always great. i got to hang out & have a drink with him once. nice man. i'm told he pops into the club unannounced, so its not just a situation where they are using his name. he actually at least partially owns it. looks like -
i'm at the point where i refuse to buy tickets a year in advance of a show. would love to see him but i saw million dollar piano in vegas & i'm good with leaving it at that. elton was my first rock show in 197cough cough.

Thanks, TCP. I'm just not in shape to go. Luckily, I'll have chemo before next show I have (Fleetwood Mac in November). Appreciate the offer though. I was able to off the tickets at work. Chuck

I have a pair for the Seattle show. GA balcony + parking. I paid about $120 for whole package. I'm not well & don't really have anyone to go with. + a good friend passed away a little over a week ago, so sort of in a dark place right now. Same age as me, so hitting hard. Make me an offer (not looking to profit). Send me a private message here if interested. thanks

Summerteeth, oh please oh please oh please!

i don't usually spring for the expensive super deluxe stuff but i may have to make an exception for the 9 disc BBC set. looks outstanding. i've heard boots of most of the full shows involved but would be nice to have pro mastered versions. i miss REM! i saw wilco open for them once when wilco had summerteeth out. that was a great show by both bands!

I recently read (can't remember where) an interesting concept: Trump is America, Inc's test run on how the citizens would respond to a dictatorship. As someone who is a ghost in the machine of the military/industrial complex, this isn't as far fetched as it seems. I can tell you that upper management had to go change their underwear when Trump said the words "space force". If the Donald gets a second term, its going to be sign.

i saw a fantastic PJ show a few weeks ago. if you're going second night, you done good. traditionally, night 2 has been better. here, they played a half hour longer & a very punk rock set. lot of rarities & soundgarden/mudhoney assists. & they played "crown of thorns".
