  1. they're right up there. i'd have to think on that one.
  2. i'm with you. i was into them from "chronic town" on. luckily saw them a real lot including a private show in a studio in vancouver. sat about 5 feet away from michael stipe during the set. it was filmed for AOL sessions. i've found a few vids on youtube but not the whole show. you can see my feet, haha. although i miss them, i'm kind of glad they packed it in when they did rather than continue when they weren't feeling it anymore. it seems that relations are ok with the guys in the band nowadays & i wouldn't be shocked if they played again. i don't see them doing a big mega reunion tour t
  3. we luv mudhoney here in seattle. mark sat a few seats away from me @ the post pop depression show. you know his day job is in sub pop's warehouse.
  4. When the Stooges reformed they were mostly doing festivals in Europe. That year, Devo was going to headline a night at the Bumbershoot festival in Seattle (when it was still cool) but someone got sick. Some friends & I noticed that the last Stooges gig in England sort of dovetailed nicely into the time frame. Easy flight over north pole. We started emailing the promoter & would put The Stooges in subject line & "oh please oh please" in the body. Well someone was paying attention & we got them! Legend has it that Mark Arm of Mudhoney went to the promoter's office in knee pads &a
  5. The new very limited edition live record "Ogre's Trumpet" is phenomenal. Think only made 1000 LPs & 1000 cds. The current GBV lineup may be the best yet. They've been together a few years now & are really tight but with plenty of GBV anarchy. In a word, alcohol haha. Doug Gillard is a great guitar player. Highly recommended.
  6. I got tix for the 2nd Seattle show. I saw them a lot in the early days in small places (spoiled) but it has been at least 10 years. Have seen Eddie pop up at other people's shows many times since then. My friend has only seen them once, so I pleasantly surprised her & got these. Actually we're both excited. I did the new ticketbastard verified fan presale & it actually worked. At first only upper deck came up but when I hit the ADA button some great seats came up. Sadly, I qualify for that. We're sitting on the club level, which is nice for a 3 hour show. Should be good. Historically i
  7. Wasn't wild about the Vile collaboration but like this new song a lot. Really like Courtney's music.
  8. They are right up there with Wilco as far as I'm concerned!
  9. they did a nice version of "pain" on jimmy fallon.
  10. high fever, not going. flu epidemic around here. found someone to use tickets who will appreciate. i've been having some issues & the smart move is to not go. they'll be back. bummed about it though. bundled up with some soup & college hoops.
  11. Drive-by Truckers with Lily Hiatt opening. Not feeling well but will try to rally for tonight. Have 6th row tickets.
  12. the movie coming out with neil & willie looks scary. daryl hannah directed. i'll try to keep an open mind...
  13. Anyone catch Chris on SNL last night? He was amazing & had a shocking unannounced addition to his band on guitar: Mr Sturgill Simpson, who just let it rip. Don't think it's really country but man did it rock. Especially the first song. They announced Sturgill before the 2nd song. Best music in ages on SNL. https://consequenceofsound.net/2018/01/chris-stapleton-and-sturgil-simpson-join-forces-on-snl-watch/
  14. sunday was so great. restored my faith in football. the MINN/NO game was maybe 1 of the best ever. i'm still stunned. that game was over! here's 1 of best post game interviews i've ever seen: http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=22100777
  15. except Marcus Peters. that guy was unreal. i wish he would get his head on straight.
  16. there's a Filthy Friends gig scheduled in Seattle on 1/27. hopefully he'll be at that one!
  17. i've seen a few shows in seattle where scott has come out for "california stars" with wilco. also seen him perform "taste the ceiling" with wilco. i'm sure most are aware that scott co-wrote that with jeff.
  18. Oh no! I knew him a little. The last time I saw him was a solo show at the Riviera in Vegas. It was a cool show that ran for awhile where he'd do his music & the music that inspired him. Told stories between songs. Talked to him for quite awhile after the show. Smithereens were a great band! Already missing him...
  19. no, this was a definite bad on josh. i think he is contrite but he's going to have to take responsibility for his actions. they are a good band but this is a real bad optic especially if the photographer wasn't doing anything out of line.
