  1. BBC News Americas page is one of my Firefox tabs alongside VC... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/default.stm
  2. I just noticed that I have a Hicks quote in my sig here... and I related it to something stupid that Britney said... It's more timely now than ever, and it's not going anywhere...
  3. Bill Hicks and Joe Rogan are both friends of Kevin Booth... another funny conspiracy nut. I agree that Rogan is basically a watered down Bill Hicks except that Joe has totally sold out with that Fear Factor shit...
  4. As an example of "not the case", it has been cool having Mission of Burma making records again lately... Not that anyone noticed, or even remembered they existed back in the day... (well, anyone besides rock geeks like the folks here at VC)
  5. I thought Cher was singing "Do you belEEEVe in life..." IMO, Billy Joel needed to do a farewell tour and hang it up a decade ago.
  6. I was definitely looking to see the video linked earlier for "while my guitar gently weeps" However... I hate the corporate YouTube...
  7. "Crawling back to you now, I sold my guitar to the girl next door." OK, not the girl next door, but my beloved 76 Les Paul Custom, black w/ nickel hardware, is gone forever because I foolishly sold it. The best sounding acoustic I ever owned (late 70s Alvarez-Yairi dreadnaught) is gone as well... I have no real guitars anymore, I recently returned a mediocre mexican tele I had oin loan from a friend... I seem to be aqcuiring amplifgiers nonetheless... I recently put my hands on a 64-65 era Ampeg reverberocket-2 combo in phenomenal condition... As for rebuilding the guitar collection,
  8. The gallery at Wilcoweb right now has a bunch of shots of Jeff with the acoustics that appear to be from the solo tour.... It is a Flash presentation... Too bad, there is a shot of the whole band under spotlights that I wanted to use as my desktop...
  9. Rhythm aka Cars Can't Escape is not only my definitive answer to this question, but probably my favorite Wilco song period. I am glad I was able to capture it when it was on the Roadcase back before they started leaking the AGIB stuff.
  10. Jason Schwartzman could play Grohl, but he would have to pluck about 2/3 of that eyebrow, grow a goatee, and buy stock in Bubblicious.
  11. More than any President in the past 20 years or so... Even as a first term US Senator, he resides in Washington D.C., has had a hand in shaping National and International policy. By the time the he has to step aside to focus on the election, he will have sat in countless meetings with other members of the Legislative Branch, possibly participated in groups, committees, etc. on important topics up for a planned vote during that Session, and actually voted on topics such as Medicare, healthcare, International commerce, defense spending, Social Security, treaties, embargoes, International dip
  12. Speaking of Dylan?? Hell yes bad vocals!! Don't get me wrong, I love Mr. Zimmerman... but if his lyrics had the meaning of say, Scott Stapp's writing, we would have never HEARD his voice... agreed??
  13. Is anyone else just disturbed by the liner art of Insignificance?? I had to turn mine inside out...
  14. Googling a couple lines from the lyrics bring up the Figurines... Is this right?? I am not familiar with them...
  15. I ewnjoyed the article, but I really hate when writers say shit like "this was a great song, from when the band was experimenting with XXX drug". Why can't they just leave it at "this is a great song".?? You hear that kids?? Another lesson here... Get high, and you will be more creative and write better songs... But remember the lesson from the Trey Anastasio thread, get high AT HOME... don't gpo driving around high. Oh, and there is probably one more lesson for the kids in the McCartney article... Don't marry a one-legged former model unless she is down with getting high with you. S
  16. I bet those ganstas pass that little bitch around like a party favor. What IDIOT shows someone weighing out coke on a triple beam in their video and brags about "anything you want to buy, through me you can cop it"?? I hope the feds are knocking on this asshole's door right now...
  17. Yet another example for the kids... go home first before getting messed up. When you own an entire county in Vermont, I would expect that you could find a private place to fix and chill for a while before driving around.
  18. Excellent choice... As a fellow malt hound, I am enjoying a cask strength, single malt Irish from Connemarra.
  19. Thanks for posting this, I was at the Pabst the night after that recording and he got quite a laugh from a much distilled version of that story. PS, Wendy.. Not to bust your chops, but SIU is in Carbondale, IL.. the University of IL is in Champaign/Urbana. By the video it looked like the crowd was having a great time, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the show in Milwaukee.
  20. I have to agree about the Dr. T statement... The only saving grace for that moment for me is the Farrah meltdown in the mall. Not because she exposes her breasts (although they are very nice for a woman her age), but because I truly feel that it probably happened that way in real life to Farrah while waiting to start a scene, and merely happened to be caught on film. Like Martin Sheen's hotel room freakout in Apocolyse Now.
  21. At the Milwaukee show, I spied a BADASS 2 ch Avalon mic preamp. I am guessing one channel is for the vocal mic, and the other is fed by the acoustic pickup. This was one of the best sounding shows I have EVER seen.
  22. Thanks Edie, did you ever get your hi-fi system finished??
  23. Cheap Trick's latest album was also produced in part by Linda Perry... Courtney needs to find a deep hole, and crawl in for a couple decades. $50M will buy some time until the general public's memory gets a little more diluted with years of NO Courtney stories while we hear all about other drug addled douchebags like Pete Doherty.
  24. It had a snake charmer holding a cobra with a full hood... It was quite nice.
