I'm sorry... This obviously assumes that they were escaping genocide from Darfur and Sudan. That must be the cross street where the accident occurred. We have a 10-50 on Main Street and Sudan Parkway. The people in my post happened to be from Mexico, which is what you objected to.

Start your own thread and go off on a rant about Darfur... Did someone escaping the oppression of Darfur hit your car and try to avoid the responsibility?? Call Oprah. Call Bono. Call 60 Minutes. Gp away
-
I am only going to say this one more time.... THE WHOLE FUCKING THREAD IS ABOUT IMMIGRANTS FROM MEXICO SMASHING INTO CARS AND DUCKING THE RESPONSIBILITY, YOU JACKASS!! (apologies for the language)
-
You were attempting (and successful BTW) at making as ass of yourself. Pulling Darfur out of your ass after being corrected about the "plight" of returning to Mexico was a weak play. As I suggested, keeping the reference of oppressed groups to a region that may actually have relevance to the conversation may have helped. Too late, much like Miss Teen S. Carolina, you brought up Africa out of context. You are disqualified for irrelevance. Know your next move before you make it, it's hard to win when you wing it. Own the game, my friend. How's that for self defense...??

Ah... I see....

When you only have $1.89, and you want to forget everything you have ever known for 3-4 hours.... Cisco Red. Why red, you may ask?? It doesn't try to confuse you with fruit and berry names. You won't waste any time trying to pick out natural flavors among the petroleum-hued bouquet. Right to business...

Why are you being argumentative?? The people in the OP were from Mexico, and the people in my story (since you decided to drag me in) were from Mexico. Since you seem like a bright kid, here is a lesson in debate... If you are picking an oppressed group, try to find one from the same hemisphere as the people mentioned in the OT. Haiti and Cuba come to mind here... Too late, I called them.
-
Why mention that they were illegal Mexicans?? Because they were from Mexico... which is what Mexican means... This is also the topic of the thread. As far as quoting proof of certain driving habits of ethnicities or whatever... This isn't a fucking journalistic expose, it's a story of what happened to me that happens to be very similar to what happened to the OP.

I had a similar situation.... We parked one of the cars in front of our house. We live on a very low traffic street, but some dumbshits drove their car right into it anyway. I looked out immediately, and the person who got out of the driver's door was a young Mexican woman. An older Mexican woman got out of the passenger side and walked around. They started the car but I ran out and stepped in front of the car and told them (politely) not to move the car and to shut it off right now. They tried to tell the cops that the older woman was driving. They had a weird little beat up tow truc

The aforementioned meeting of former Chicago Bear and recent broadcaster Dan Jiggetts was at a lunchtime Score remote broadcast where Payton was signing autographs. I was with my boss (at the time), who was a major Score-head. We decided to wrap up a small job before heading to the broadcast, and because of that and the always shitty Chicago traffic, we missed Walter by 15-20 minutes... He stopped appearing publicly shortly after that, and died a year or two later. I have always regretted that we didn't put off the job until the afternoon and just go...

Don't keep them against the wall... Try not to have more than a couple dozen "leaning" on each other... Also, put them back in the sleeves when you are done with them, leaving them on the 'table let's dust settle in the grooves (especially if you have copied the audiophile move of removing the dust cover). Graphite brushes for dry-brushing are a MUST (seek out an AQ or similar).... Don't use the Recoton fluid and the velvet thing with the big hollow wooden handle... NEVER use fluid... If you are a hardcore (borderline certifiable) alien audiophile.... Seek out a shop (or maybe yo

"Ice Road Truckers" unappreciation thread
squarewave replied to bjorn_skurj's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Has anyone else noticed that "shark week" has lasted about 3 weeks this year?? Also, I agree that History Channel is losing focus... but there are precedents. Is "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Art or Entertainment?? A&E has SERIOUSLY lost their focus... At least Gene Simmons was a bona-fide entertainer before his show started. I watched a multi-part "reality" type thing about various groups' travels to Sturgis '06 on the Travel CHannel... That rocked. There was a guy named Parts who was a member of the Ugly Motorcycle Club. Just a regular non-celebrity biker dude on his way to a rally -
Many of the stories relayed so far are absolutely great... I met Tim Armstrong (of Rancid) at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee where I had just seen Kiss on the first of their full-makeup reunion tours. We had all-access passes and were hanging out afterward, and I was walking across the empty arena floor going back to out seats to look for some sunglasses or something that I had apparently lost. Tim was walking toward me (I had just come from the "backstage" area where the food was, and where the opening band (punk band D-Generation) were partying in an adjacent room) Tim was very graci

Happy Birthday, Sue Miller Tweedy
squarewave replied to pillowy star's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Happy Birthday Sue! Did you by chance get a VW Eos convertible?? JK... I had some ideas on celebrating Jeffs B-day (which is also my b-day) on this thread... http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=30297 BTW, nobody is asking your age. At least the gentlemen are not asking.... -
I have a medium gray Wilco AGIB tour shirt (with the doves flying out of the letters of "Wilco") It's my favorite design, but Music Today sent me an L when I ordered an XXL... Needless to say, it's never been worn... (I am not a fan of the Under Armour look, and neither would the general public be if they saw me wearing that look) Possible trades, any XXL... or some beers sometime somewhere in Chicago, or the Western or SW burbs. I am in Geneva, and I have a lot of friends in River North (Rockit?), Barrington, as well as in and around Orland Park (Shoeless Joes?).

More interesting people who share my b-day... Entertainment types: Sean F*cking Connery Gene F*cking Simmons (!!) Rob F*cking Halford (!!) Tim Burton Tom Skerrit Regis Philbin Rachel Bilson (call me) Blair Underwood Monty Hall Claudia Schiffer Sports greats: Albert Belle (if you don't know, you should!) Robert Horry (b-ball great) Rollie Fingers Also: Billy Ray Cyrus Rachael Ray... Sue, we should really have a big dinner party!! Rachael can cook (only if we gag her)... Billy Ray can park cars... and the rest of us can really have some interesting conversations!!

I am 17 yrs. younger than Elvis Costello, and 4 yrs. younger than Jeff Tweedy... And I share a birthday with both. Sue, if you should happen to see this ridiculous thread, call me... Diana asked me if I was coming to the gathering for D Mac's 53rd (which is also my 36th). Oh!! That means that Jeff is 40 this year!! I would go, if you guys wanted to go... If you have other plans let me know, I would rather not go to NYC anyway, I would rather stay in Chicago and do something quiet...

The girl is attractive, but the video is not so good... Although John is playing a bad ass Rickenbacker in the video, that alone makes it worth watching once.

Well, on the Eve of the 1983 New Year, KISS played the Rockford MetroCentre. I wasn't there, but friends of my parents' son (who was 5 yrs. older than I am) went, and I spent the entire NYE at that dude's house with my parents (who were playig cards and celebrating). I remember spending the bulk of the night watching this cool ass TV channel called MTV at this dude's tricked out family room setup with TV and a kickin' HI-FI. He was pissed that I had played his recoreds while he was at the show, but he forgave me because I put them away when I was done and didn;t leave them laying around. (

I saw a Wilco video on one of those video jukeboxes at a bar I stopped into... I played it, and I remember the small airport/skydiving theme (with jeff in a weird helmet and goofy goggles) but I don't remember which song it was... It was a Being There track, maybe "Outta Site"?? I had been at a benefit beforehand, and I was well lubricated when I found this in the jukebox. In fact, I didn't even realize it was a video jukebox at first... Even though wee had been there for over an hour before I decided to throw some dough into the jukebox. It took a few songs into my set before I notic

I wonder if Nonesuch/Warner (or other labels) have a group plan that their artists can buy into?? I remember when a bunch of artists I respect did the tribute for Victoria Williams to help offset medical expenses because she was not covered... With the HC crisis where it is, and as PUBLIC as it is, there should be a major label HC plan, even if it is a co-op.
