Wilco songs they play that you don't want them to
Mr. Heartbreak replied to lamradio's topic in Just A Fan
I was definitely not joking. That song would not even break into my top 50 Wilco songs list, if I ever got around to making one. -
One thing that doesn't really get talked about enough is the fact that most of these large corporations are not strictly "American" companies, even the ones that started out that way. They are large, multinational corporations, and they are essentially responsible only to their shareholders, not to their communities. And, since corporations are people, my friends, they have rights, just like you and me. Actually, they have more rights than you or me.

I probably shouldn't even wade into this, but I'm guessing "big banks" or "central banks" are code for "Zionists."

RIP MC5 Bassist Michael Davis

Ditto. -
Don't think anyone posted about this...it's old news now, but I believe there are some MC5 fans on here somewhere... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-17088645

Wilco songs they play that you don't want them to

I will always love Shot In The Arm, but I could live without it if they replace it with two other classic Summerteeth tunes... -

Ha! I don't think I have seen them perform it since 2002. It has become somewhat rare...except for you! -

I second this. Impossible Germany was my piss break song the last time I saw Wilco. They can pretty much dump One Wing, I'll Fight, Walken, Hate It Here, Theologians, Late Greats, and At Least That's What You Said, and I'm fine with that. I used to love Handshake Drugs, but since it became a feedback-drenched guitar duel at the end, I can't tolerate that one either. That song was so cool in its original stripped down incarnation. -
If anyone wants 2 9th row tickets for the Tampa show, send me a PM. I listed them in the other forum, but no response, and I would rather a VCer get them than a Craigslist denizen.

Your top 10 favorite English bands/solo artist
Mr. Heartbreak replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
I cheated a little by expanding listings...also, just can't quite bring myself to narrow it down to 10... 1) The Beatles 2) Pink Floyd/Syd Barrett 3) Elton John 4) The Rolling Stones 5) Brian Eno 6) The Who 7) David Bowie 8) The Style Council/Paul Weller 9) Caravan 10) Camel 11) Genesis/Peter Gabriel 12) King Crimson -
My brother was at that '83 Hartford Civic Center show, and the place really went nuts when they broke out St. Stephen.

Where they stand now, as far as delegates, total votes, etc: http://elections.huffingtonpost.com Pretty pathetic for Ron Paul, I must say. Only 19 delegates, the smallest amount; 338,000 votes, also the smallest amount. This isn't the mainstream media or the Republican establishment ignoring poor Ron. It's Republican primary voters. Give him props, though: he's raised $31,083,281, second only to Romney. And he's got plenty of Facebook likes.

I agree with this. Most all the shows I saw were during '82 - '84, and although they could be hit or miss then, I always thought they were awesome.Looking back, I realize how incredibly lucky I was to have seen those shows (and how lucky I am to have copies of them now, too).

What does your upcoming concert schedule look like?
Mr. Heartbreak replied to EstimtedProphet's topic in Someone Else's Song
I hardly go to any shows anymore, so my upcoming concert schedule is (for me) absolutely crazy: March 10: Elton John in Orlando March 15: Experience Hendrix in Clearwater (Featuring Billy Cox, David Hidalgo & Cesar Rosas Of Los Lobos, Jonny Lang, Robert Randolph, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Dweezil Zappa, Robby Krieger, Eric Johnson, Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, Bootsy Collins, Slide Brothers, Chris Layton Of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, etc) April 21: Buddy Guy in Gainesville May 5: Beach Boys 50th Reunion Tour in Tampa May 14: Wilco in Tampa -
Santorum reminds me of Neidermeyer, the guy in Animal House who gets dragged by his own horse.

I have two tickets for the May 14th Tampa, FL show: Orchestra, Row A, seats 18 & 19. This is the 9th row, center. Can't beat that! If you are interested in these great seats, please PM me here or email me at msahno_sdp@yahoo.com. Total price from the presale was $115.00: 2 tickets, $45.50 each + $12.00 service charge = subtotal $103.00 + $12.00 delivery fee = $115.00. Hope to hear from someone on VC soon about these, as they will go on craigslist if I do not. Would rather sell to a diehard Wilco fan!

They played You Never Know before the break on Chuck Todd's show The Daily Rundown on MSNBC this morning. So there you go, they are a bunch of liberals.

Friday fun..what is the best thing you ever found?
Mr. Heartbreak replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I was in Bangkok recently at a tiny used book store in a large shopping mall, and I found a hardcover copy of Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin. It had no publishing date, but there was a note in there from 1899, so my guess is that it was printed between 1852 and 1899. I picked it up for the whopping price of three dollars. -
A-man, no love for '74....? Come on, buddy.
-
I was at that Tampa show in 2005, and the whole Kingpin thing was pretty funny. I have a pretty decent recording of it as well. I wish I had a copy of ALL the Wilco shows I have attended! Come to think of it, I probably got it from suites...
-
I understand why people like those years if they saw shows during them...but the best?? No, no, no. The best years would be about 70-77. Seriously. And if I had to narrow it down more, I'd say 72-74.

Ninth row center for Tampa. Not too shabby.

So, I was out of the U.S. all week, and didn't keep up...which states has Ron Paul won so far?
