I'm seeing them tomorrow night in Tampa. It will feel like about 92 degrees when they hit the stage. Heh.

Very sad, especially at such a young age. People always think it's going to be someone else, but not them. Vibes to her fans, friends, and family. The so-called "27 Club" now includes Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, Kurt Cobain, and Amy Winehouse. Again, truly sad.

Wow, now I'm REALLY glad I got these tickets for free. Fortunately, I get to clean my ears out about 45 days later with a nice Wilco show...

I got free tickets to see Kings of Leon next month, and Band of Horses is opening. I have never seen either of these bands, but from what I have heard of their music, I think I'm going to like Band of Horses a lot better. Anyone else seeing them on this tour?

What was so amazing to me was how into it the crowd was. They sang along with these songs (Touch and Throwing Stones) that hadn't even been released yet. Far out!

I heard some Wilco the last time my wife and I were in Nordstrom. I think it was One Wing or maybe Impossible Germany.

Anyone else tune in for this last night? Thought it was pretty intense, myself.

One of the great unsung guitarists of the 70s, Steve Hillage. Played with Gong, and released some excellent solo LPs as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyrxtVnc-28 If you don't have the patience to watch the whole thing, just check him out at about 3:01 and 5:45.

Check out 9/23/82. It was my first Dead show, so it has a special place in my heart, but there is now a SBD of it up on archive.org.

That must have been it. I guess that's a lot more similar in title to I'll Fight!
-
Wasn't I Might a song that was around before Wilco (The Album)? I seem to remember there being a similar title to I'll Fight, that didn't make the cut. Am I remembering this wrong? Anybody know?

I got two for the second night in Atlanta. Tried from 9:55 to about 10:20, constantly rejecting seats that were just too far away. Finally settled for 14th row on the aisle...the farthest back I have ever been for a Wilco show. Of course, every time I removed an order, the site kicked me out and I had to log back in. Guess I should be grateful I got anything at all, based on the other comments on this thread. It's official: unless you are extremely lucky, Frontgate sucks ass.

Already blocked. I guess the people who posted them here didn't know that the powers that be have a policy against that.

You mentioned "a few" of the bootleg series without specifying which ones. If you don't already have Live, 1966: The Royal Albert Hall Concert, that one's essential to me. Some of my all-time favorite versions of some of my all-time favorite Dylan songs. I would also put in a word for Good As I Been To You, which doesn't get talked about too much. Of course, it's all covers and folk songs (apparently it was the part 1 to World Gone Wrong's part 2), but it's also his "first entirely solo, acoustic album since Another Side of Bob Dylan in 1964" (so says wikipedia).

Only a few Zappa songs? What about all the others? As you can tell from my avatar, I'm a huge FZ fanatic, so I have pretty much every studio release, plus a lot of unreleased live material as well. Much of it is funny, although at this point I really listen for the music itself (certain things, such as Honey, Don't You Want A Man Like Me? get tedious upon repeated listening). But for great music with humor in it, for my money, nobody beats Uncle Frank. There are plenty of other bits of comedy in my collection, though. They Might Be Giants and Camper Van Beethoven both have some funny stuf

I have a Western Digital WD Elements 2 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive. Just bought it a couple weeks ago from Amazon for under $100.00. It got an average of 4 stars from 1,600 reviewers, which is about as good as it gets. It was pretty easy to set up, even though with a Mac you have to reformat the drive. There were several discussions on the Amazon page about how to do that, so even a technophobe like me was able to set it up with no problem. I downloaded pretty much everything on the Mac to it (about 400 gigs) in less than a day. As far as portability, it wouldn't exactly fit in

You can substitute your own state of choice for this, but I heard it when I lived in VA. Q: How many Virginians does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A: Six. One to screw in the lightbulb and five to sit around and talk about how good the old one was. At ninety, Jim and Mary have been married for 71 years. One day, they walk into a marriage counselor's office. Surprised to see such an elderly couple in his practice, the counselor asks, "Well, what can I do for you two?" "We want a divorce!" says Jim firmly, as Mary nods her head vigorously in agreement. The counselor is incredulous, and sc
