  1. The Byrds Eight Miles High Mr. Tambourine Man (I know, it's a cover, but whatever) Turn, Turn, Turn I Come And Stand At Every Door 5D (Fifth Dimension)
  2. Oh yeah, they did it a bunch in the 1990s. The version from 11-12-96 is absolutely incendiary, to use a word that came up earlier in this thread.
  3. I think people just wanted to hear Jeff, so they got quiet enough to do so. Singing, even softly = not hearing him during that "hootenanny" portion.
  4. If someone had told me a few years back that I'd see Wilco play Panthers, Cars Can't Escape and Magazine at two different shows in one week, I'd have said, "Keep dreaming." I requested Dark Neon, as I'd never caught it live, so that was a person highlight. The UT encore repeat was sublime.

  6. If any of you VCers want to meet up in St. Augustine, let me know. My wife has to work, so I'm driving up on my own.
  7. Don't take it too hard...there is a LOT of chops-busting on here, frisbetarian. And thanks again for posting the setlist. I really didn't want to be whipping out my cell every five minutes in the GA pit.
  8. I figured he meant John. People always get John and Paul mixed up, because they're the most well-known members. I know it wasn't George or Ringo.
  9. Makes sense. I'm just glad they made a solid 4-show sweep through F-L-A this time. I wish I could have seen last night, too, but I don't think I'd survive tomorrow. Still recovering from Orlando!
  10. Hmm, three FL shows in a row featuring Monday and two in a row with Hate It Here. Wonder if there's a message in there? Jeff is known for writing the lyrics "I loathe the sun."
  11. Nice! Thanks for the report. Love how they're adding stuff like Panthers to the set even when it's a festival setting. Good way to get people to buy that box set.
  12. Spaced Rats in the Cellar Toys in the Attic Kings and Queens Movin' Out
  13. Taft by Ann Patchett. Just met her a couple weeks back and got it signed. She wrote, "Nobody reads this book!"
  14. For anyone who was thinking of getting a ticket to the St. Augustine show but hasn't pulled the trigger yet, it looks like a bunch of tickets got released at the last minute. They are in Section 102 (center), rows 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9. For perspective, pretty much the entire 2nd section behind them is sold out. Very weird. You have to choose the "Buy on Map" option on Ticketbastard, or it won't work. Excellent seats, centrally located. I would buy one myself, but I'm in the GA pit in front.

  17. Very cool. I really hope it's released as a Roadcase. I'd get it. Some Banter Corner nuggets for those who peruse this forum (we know who we are, don't we?): Whereas in Tallahassee, Jeff greeted the crowd and said, "It's been a long time...10 years...you look good," in Orlando it was, "It's been a long time...I like what you've done with the place." Having seen the Tally show made the line a lot funnier. As always, standup comedy still seems like an option if the whole rock band thing doesn't work out. During the encores, a guy came right up next to me and wanted to hand an original hand
  18. Awesome shots! I took a handful, but haven't had a chance to upload them yet.
  19. It was indeed one for the books. Unfortunately, I'm not really expecting any full length recording to surface. Security there is the typical theme park deal where they search your bags, make you go through a metal detector, etc...so I'm guessing no one smuggled in a recording rig. It was a night where the band was dialed into what the fans really wanted to hear, in an almost supernatural way. Right before the show, suites (Hal) and I were talking, and he asked me what song I would really like to hear. I said, "One they're not likely to play: We've Been Had." He told me he would like to hear A
