Kind of an entertaining article from Rolling Stone with various musicians talking about their favorite Dead tunes: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/my-favorite-grateful-dead-song-dave-matthews-black-keys-and-more-20150527 Kudos to Chris Robinson & Lee Ranaldo for picking classic orginals like Dark Star and Jack Straw. As for Dan Auerbach...Me & My Uncle, really? Not that it's bad, it's one of the Dead's most-played covers, but jeez.

Yep, Jerry played pedal steel on LLR during at least part of '72, if not all of it. There is a pretty nice version of it on the most recent Dave's Picks, too. I have not acquired 4/8 yet, but I love that 4/14 Copenhagen show you're listening to. I've had that, 5/25 & 5/26 for years, and those are "must have" shows, IMO. When the soundboards were floating around out there, I downloaded them. Beyond that, it looks like you might have just picked up the best ones right there. The only other one I have that you didn't mention is the 4/16 show without Donna. I got that so I could have a Europ

Favorite final albums by a band/solo artist?

I think a case could be made for The Final Cut being the last Pink Floyd album. That's how I feel about it, anyway. -

Jeff Tweedy - Film: Acoustic in Durham, NC

Great review! So, I have to ask: does Jeff relate to the fact that people find his songs meaningful in their lives? And how does he feel about that? -
Finally found my copy of Dave's 11...apparently, someone burned me a copy. So no need for the drop box, but thanks for the offer! Now I just need to save a copy for my external HD.

Relatively Clean Rivers -
I'm guessing the first tier is just Dylan and Lennon/McCartney, but who knows what the guy meant? Agree, it was kind of a weird thing to write.

Speaking of Cream, I was seriously tempted to post Blind Faith as an entry on this thread...but I didn't think people would find it funny enough. How about Never Mind the Bollocks? Or Miseducation of Lauryn Hill? -
	Yup.

That is a really cool story. I enjoyed a few interactions with some of the guys in the late 90s, and they were all very laid back and friendly. I never got a chance to get to a Letterman taping, but the show was a big part of my life, too, for quite some time back in the 80s, especially. I even watched as recently as 2003-2004, and remember catching the last Warren Zevon appearance when it aired. I have been watching some of these last few shows after DVR-ing them, and have been surprised by how much the quality of the writing seems to have declined over the years. I know I can be a tough

Absolutely true. I tried thinking of final albums of a bunch of artists I like, and came up empty (Dead, Warren Zevon, Phil Ochs, Camel, Gong, Be-Bop Deluxe...). I think you guys have nailed all the albums I know about and like. The only one I haven't seen on here yet that I might mention is Avalon by Roxy Music. Kind of a weak album compared to earlier Roxy classics, but it's still pretty good. I could make an argument for Steely Dan's Gaucho, but then they came back later and did a couple things. -
Not a single song off of Being There or A.M., and only one off of Summerteeth? I would say the guy is nuts, but then the site is called rocknuts.net, so I guess that takes care of that. He's right, though, in calling Jeff one of the great rock songwriters of all time.

Oh man, that is awesome. Enjoy!

Cooooool. Been working my way all the way through 5/11/72 in the car, and there really is some good stuff on there. I am not typically big on 40-minute Dark Stars, but this one really has something for everyone. Nice long jam session in the middle that actually goes to some interesting places.

Yep, it is the Hundred Year Hall show. Speaking of '72 Dead, if any of you kind Dave's Pick's subscribers would be willing to help a brother out, I discovered to my dismay tonight that my Vol. 11 from 11/17/72 is totally MIA...I don't have the discs, I don't have copies of the files on my iMac or external hard drive... I even checked my Amazon account to see whether I had stupidly sold it without remembering to burn a copy for myself, but nope. It's like it never existed....Really weird. It's in the Twilight Zone.

Good to know. I was figuring I'd get 5/23 next, then 4/26, etc. I'll move 4/8 closer to the top!
