^ And how should Patton Oswalt feel reading that?

"I'll tell ya one thing about the phone company.....LouieB!" - Lenny Bruce

Wrong forum. This should go in Someone Else's Song, dude.

Bottom line: they all really fucked up by not going through with the '97 reunion.
-
Not a great singer, no, but he could do some amazing things with his howls and his scat-like lyrical delivery. None of that is present today.
-
I think the main problem with Tattoo is Dave can no longer sing at all like he could.
-
I see now, thanks. Must be all that velcro I've used in my life, making me too dumb to get that at first.

I don't understand this sentence. Could you dumb it down for me? Does anyone know what dagwave means? I read it as the game stops one from using 'invalid' words, but at the same time allows one to 'create' words. Don't those two things cancel each other out? Also, what the fuck is up with the MultiQuote feature. Jesus, you gotta build an ark to quote two posts.

All told, it is nice to see them together, even if the new music is a shit sandwich.
-
Right on - I was lucky enough to slip inside the Avalon in Boston during soundcheck and secretly watch the Beastie Boys and fIREHOSE jamming onstage for a good 20 minutes before one of the venue people found me. They were practicing Sophisticated Bitch, which they all played together at the show that night.

Yeah it sounds like Sammy-era production with Dave singing (though I can't say they sound like Dave-era vocals). Didn't move me, but maybe the album will have a worthy track or two.

Rachel McAdams' character did not need to be so unlikeable and vapid.
-
You should read that New Yorker article - Carrie has the same concerns.
-
Sweet. Haven't heard a peep from Watt about this.

They're both good - The Bank Job was more clever and compelling than I thought it would be.

Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone (movie)
Sir Stewart replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
Looking forward to catching this someday. Fishbone shows really had no rival when it came to energy and spidaggle. I heard the comic Brian Posehn on Marc Maron's podcast talking about his early days as a rock writer, and he said Angelo was his worst interview ever; he just hated him. "I mean I'd ask like 'Who are your influences?' and he said 'Bugs Bunny.' I'm like 'C'mon man...'" Umm, Brian: that was a real answer. -
I hope Tony gets well. If Bill Ward is not the first guy to die from the OG Sabbath lineup, it'll be a miracle.

There's a piece on Fred and (mostly) Carrie in a recent New Yorker, and it says Fred used to be in a band in Chicago called Trenchmouth. Maybe that's where the Jeff/Fred connection started. http://en.wikipedia....iki/Trenchmouth It's a great article if you're a fan of Portlandia. Made me want to check out Wild Flag, too.

I know Crow said he was just kidding, but if I were you, I'd seriously consider a trip to HR. That shit is ridiculous.
-
It really is about the music.

You know you could've just deleted "SS" right?
-
M*A*S*H or The Sopranos?
-
Sure they could (and 50's pop stars) - but that don't have to. Exactly. Oy with the cynicism. Also, the quote function here sucks dick. What the fuck happened. MultiQuote bullshit.
