  1. Don't worry. Maybe the band will email you some hot chocolate.
  2. Any speculation/suggestions what Wilco will do to make it up? I'd like to see a second show added for Friday 8/8, gratis for 2/29 ticketholders. Kind of a mini-residency thing (I'm sure they can cover the additional booking fee in merch revenue & post-SNL bump in cd sales). It's probably too much to hope for, but hey, a boy can dream.
  3. I have a problem with whoever invented low-fat mayonnaise.
  4. According to Wikipedia and larrynorman.com, he passed away yesterday. One of the founding fathers of contemporary Christian music. I haven't listened to his stuff in ages but this news still makes me very sad.
  5. Maybe Charleston will get a Zep/Wilco double-bill - I would've been happy with a free t-shirt that said "Wilco Hates the Lowcountry"
  6. I hope they play "Hate It Here" and dedicate it to the Charleston ticketholders.
  7. I've been fuming about this all weekend, but was hoping the lack of an "official" announcement on the band's website (which we're still waiting for...) was due to last-minute logistics scrambling to play both charleston and SNL on consecutive nights (the charleston airport is a 10 min. drive from the PAC with plenty of daily flights to NYC; maybe the issue was getting the gear up to NYC in time altho I'd think they could load up the bus & get the stuff up there overnight in plenty of time. I assume they'll have to return the booking fee to the PAC, altho for that amount I think they could'
  8. I guess that makes it official. Time to cancel my weekend travel plans - the last place I'd want to be this Friday is the PAC parking lot when all those folks roll in expecting a Wilco show. And yes, I'll probably watch the band on SNL; I just won't enjoy it.
  9. Still no official word of reschedulization on either the Wilco or Charleston PAC websites...
  10. No, but I'm sure they anticipate a bump in cd sales. And VW sales.
  11. It's all good I still think wilco owes us a living room concert. Or a lap dance.
  12. You think? I see your point Louie (I guess your just echoing the band's logic for doing this), but I don't like it. Sorry to keep pooping in the punch bowl, but take a look at a map - I bet there's a good number of folks driving/flying up from FLA, some of whom aren't going to find out it's "rescheduled" ("rescheduled" because the way I read it, it looks like they were planning a tour in Aug. anyway - more like "canceled, but your tickets will still be good for a show six months from now" ) until they pull into the parking lot.
  13. Let's see: Chicago gets five shows of the band's back-catalogue and free hot chocolate - Charleston gets to watch the band do two songs on a crappy late-night television program. thanks wilco. thanks for nothing at all.
  14. How many times have you seen Wilco live in the last week or so? twice??
  15. This would be the second time they've canceled/rescheduled a show I had tickets to (the first being New Orleans when Jeff went into rehab). I will be extremely pissed and disappointed in the band if it's true - I'm sure alot of folks have made travel plans (ie. taken time off from work, booked hotels, etc.) to attend this show.
  16. You really should pawn this off as a picture of the navy blowing up that spy satellite.
  17. these guys are taking all the fun out of wilco...
  18. With John Doe opening a couple of the shows, I wouldn't mind hearing an X cover or two (I'd love to see Nels imitate Billy Zoom's studied nonchalance and maniac grinning).
  19. Here's my Etsy site of collage pendants, if anyone's interested.
