  1. the music of James Brown does not make me want to dance. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is the only good Pink Floyd album (and even it's not very good)
  2. Slap white coats on them & they're all pharmacists.
  3. It can't be about drinking. Otherwise he'd "ricochet down the avenue"
  4. I have the Satanic Majesties 3-d cover too - a 25 cent thrift store purchase from the mid-80's. This is my favorite thrift store record find. I don't know if it's worth anything (maybe just the cover; the vinyl's beat to hell):
  5. Yeah, me too. I was putting away the laundry and found him lurking in my underwear drawer.
  6. Now that's a lyric I can get behind. or "knit crocheting"
  7. oh, well... it's just that "ricocheting" is a little too clever for my taste (can't really explain it much more beyond that). I do really like the song, though.
  8. I have a few that make me cringe: "when you perform it's so intense" from The Lonely 1 (although style points for rhyming with "defense"). "The greatest singer in rock and roll Would have to be Romeo His vocal chords are made of gold He just looks a little too old" the old/gold lines really bug me - just seems, well, kind of lame (imho). also, the "drunks were ricocheting" line from sky blue sky.
  9. Oh, yes - the Holy Trinity of 70's am radio one-hit wonders!
  10. You can bet your sweet life that the Republicans would've brought up the Rev. Wright stuff, probably a week or so before the general election - best to get it dealt with and out of the way now.
  11. Pilot - "Magic" Sniff 'n the Tears - "Driver's Seat" Two one-hit wonders that are darn good songs.
  12. I'm shocked SHOCKED - next thing they'll tell me is 2/3s of Husker Du are teh gay.
  13. This has always been a useful guide for 70's-80's alternative music.
  14. I head "Impossible Germany" in our local Publix in Savannah at around the same time.
  15. It is if you lived in the gulf states a few years ago:
  16. We went with "Come Rain or Come Shine" (the Ray Charles version)
  17. Aren't those last two photos of the same person?
  18. I think I had all the Aurora monster models, except for the Bride of Frankenstein.
  19. Illustration from an 1880s physics textbook that I used in a collage pendant that included the caption "I must call for the music". The caption was clipped from a line of text from a Victorian novel (Lucille, by Owen Meredith)
  20. Bought a 2007 Toyota Matrix last year, which I'm really happy with - It gets good gas mileage, fun to drive, and very roomy for it's size. The main selling point for me was that you can fold down both the back seats and the front passenger seat, so you can haul stuff up to 8' in length.

    SNL!

SNL should've axed the last Ellen Page lesbian skit (which was A: really unfunny, even given the post-oscars is-she-or-isn't-she speculation and B: might've been edgy 10 years ago but just seems dated now) & let wilco do 12 minutes of Spiders.
