  1. Happy Birthday, Via Chicago!! Wow!! I really had to think about how I stumbled upon this place. I noticed that I officially signed up on June 1, 2004. I’m almost positive that I was forced to sign up in order to download the 2 shows from Otto’s, but I most likely lurked as a “guest” for at least 6 months. I chose my screen name because I saw a few people using other band names around here. Almost as if to say I came over here from this other band, but Wilco is doing something special that needs me to sign up for their message board and mingle. I’m not on any other band’s message boar
  2. I think that might be true with the heavy participation in Sing 2. They must know how polarizing they are, so they figure to target young kids watching an animated film. The same concept got Elton John a whole generation of fans without the polarization. America is a much different place now compared to when The Lion King came out, so I wonder if parents will avoid this film knowing that Bono is in it. I can totally see that happening and hurting the film’s box office, but the studio can blame Covid for any sort of failure. And I say America because there will be different recording artists vo
  3. I was delightfully surprised last night to find The Beta Test available to rent. I knew that it was being released in select theaters today, but had no idea that it was going to be a Same Day VOD. The film is a pitch black comedy satire of Hollywood & social media, while doing double duty as a thriller. Jim Cummings has successfully created another wholly original film, but this time with PJ McCabe who co-wrote & co-directed. The overall exaggerated tone felt like homages to Altman’s The Player and the comedic scenes of Lynch’s Mulholland Dr. (The Cowboy scene & the produ
  4. The Tweedy Show Thursday November 4 Episode 203 -- Basil welcomes the clients to the Tweedy Show. -- Susie introduces Spencer, Casey, Eugenia, Sammy & Jeff. -- Susie & Jeff try to guess which show Paul is at during tonight's episode. The answer is My Morning Jacket. -- Jeff is triggered by mullets because that's what haircuts the kids that used to pick on Jeff had. -- Susie ponders if anyone in Bachelor Nation is a Wilco fan which leads Jeff to tell a story about a fan in the front row who wanted to move the monitor wedge around on the stage, so that he could hear the
  5. I wanted to give a recommendation for a film that I consider to be one of the very best films that I’ve seen all year: Small Engine Repair. I saw a trailer for this film back in late August and noticed that it was set in Manchester, NH which is about a half hour from where I live. The film was actually shot in upstate NY except for a few aerial shots of the red mill buildings in Manchester. Anyways, the trailer had me intrigued and I was surprised to see that it got booked in a theater in Manchester. It didn’t get much of a wide release around MA/NH, so I decided to go see it on open
  6. I was browsing the U2 fan pages a few weeks ago and found out that they will have a new song, Your Song Saved My Life, featured in the Sing 2 movie coming out this Christmas. Bono even lends his voice to a reclusive lion rockstar. The song will be released digitally tomorrow. I’m guessing that they’re trying to get an Academy Award. Losing to Eminem is understandable, but losing to the Frozen song was rough. The song sounds decent based off of the 30 second sample. It might be a leftover from the last 2 records. No one really knows when it was recorded. I guess anyone can record songs a lot mo
  7. I didn’t feel the need to start a new thread, but Spotify added 2 new Jeff Tweedy songs today. They’re part of the Sub Pop Singles Club Vol. 6. They are C’mon America and UR-60 Unsent. C’mon America sounds like it might have been played on The Tweedy Show, but I haven’t looked hard enough at the untitled songs to see which one. I thought that it might have been “I Love My Country Stupid & Cruel (Sing In The Choir), but it is not. UR-60 Unsent is actually the song that Jeff called Film Strip, when he played it twice on an older episode of The Tweedy Show. That was quite
  8. Excellent setlist shakeup for the second night! Dear Santa, Please make these 2 Portland shows part of the Road Case collection. Thanks!
  9. I did some digging around on WilcoWorld and came across this which I never saw back in late August. It’s a bit upsetting, but there’s the answer…,
  10. I posed the same question over in the Facebook group and no one replied with the answer that I was seeking. My guess is that they put one of the Road Cases back on and it’s tough to realize which one wasn’t there before. Or as you said they simply forgot! Lol
  11. Excellent news! PS…I asked about the Half Life/I Can’t single and they are also selling that one. $28 for both which includes shipping. A bit odd to email them directly to get the ball rolling, but I’m just glad that they’re being offered.
  12. The Tweedy Show Monday September 27 Episode 202 -- Spencer welcomes the clients to the Tweedy Show. — Jeff & Susie both say that it's been a long time, since the last episode. — Susie finds out that Paul is at a Squeeze concert which prompts Jeff to sing brief bits of Pulling Muscles (From The Shell) & Tempted. Jeff also mentions that he doesn't know the guys from Squeeze. Say I Love You Again (Last played on April 12th when it was untitled. It could also be titled Say You Love Me Again, according to Jeff. Spencer on thigh slaps & backing vocals.) -- Jeff s
  13. In case if you missed this recent announcement…👍👍
  14. I think there was a Western Mass movie theater that had it available to rent online via their website. I never watched it, but I’ll certainly look for it. I’m in NH, so I get the Mass & NH PBS channels. I’ll let you know, if I see it on there. Oh! Thank you for the heads up!
  15. David Lowery’s The Green Knight is one of the most visually stunning films in years. It’s also what I would consider to be one of the best films this year. (Available in theaters & on VOD for $19.99. Price should drop on October 12th same day as Blu-ray release in the U.S.)
  16. The Tweedy Show Thursday September 2 Episode 201 -- Sammy welcomes the clients to the Tweedy Show. -- Sammy, Eugenia, Spencer & Susie are there. -- Jeff jokes that they recast Sammy with a mulletted actor. -- The word "computer" drives Alexa crazy. -- Jeff jokes that Paul is still in the tub. -- Spencer says that he celebrated Paul's birthday with him in Indiana. -- Jeff thanks the clients for hanging out in Starship Casual. Mi Shebeirach (Debbie Friedman cover sung by Sammy w Spencer on backing vocals.) Holy Ghost (Low cover sung by Sammy. Spencer on drums.)
  17. I view the Substack subscription as a Jeff Tweedy boxset happening in real time. You get songs with some writings that one can consider liner notes. I know that it’s tied in more with the thinking that it’s stuff that could be an addendum to his book(s). I have enjoyed everything so far that he has posted. There were a couple of songs that were complete surprises because they were never played on The Tweedy Show. I can kinda see why folks would be upset about a subscription cost tied to this venture, but try to take these changes in the arts & entertainment industry
  18. The A.M. song that was requested was Pick Up The Change, according to other reports. Maybe drunk lady kept falling down to pick up the change. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  19. Yes! It’s pretty crazy, right? The NBA Draft was happening during that 2007 show and the Boston Celtics assembled the new Big 3 that night. It certainly feels so long ago, when you look at it through that lens. I think the obvious reason for skipping Boston in the summer is due to Solid Sound which I’m sure crossed your mind. I’m not complaining at all, as I feel extremely fortunate to be so close to Mass MoCa, but there definitely has been a lack of summertime Boston proper shows since Solid Sound came into the picture.
  20. Happy Birthday, Jeff!! Thanks for everything!
  21. Yes, it's on WilcoWorld. See where it says Info for the Philadelphia show? Click on Info for any of the past shows to get the setlist.
  22. All set times for this tour are on WilcoWorld’s Shows page. Here is the listing for the Boston show. https://wilcoworld.net/shows/ They’re also adding the setlists to each listing.
  23. If they kept the same exact setlist from Spokane, then I would say that you’re right. The way that I see it is that they’ve been adding and dropping songs at every show which to me makes it unique, even if there are a lot of songs that have been played at every show so far. It’s not anywhere on the same level as say Solid Sound, Sky Blue Sky or the Winterlude shows, but it’s pretty good.
  24. Thank you again for the recap! I’m happy with how the setlists have been. There have been 5 shows and 5 unique setlists to my eyes. It looks like last night the order was shuffled around to keep you on your toes. Plus, who would’ve guessed that they’d be playing those songs from Sky Blue Sky again. The representation from that album has been so prominent I was thinking that it was the 15th anniversary already. I did see a printed setlist over at the other place and 2 songs were dropped: What Light was sandwiched between I’m The Man Who Loves You and Heavy Metal Drummer
