  1. I read this as "Dump Day!". This makes more sense when referring to The McRib.
  2. That's odd. Wasn't today the first day that the McRib was reintroduced? I'd rather massage Karl Rove's head than eat a McRib or even take a McBite.
  3. Nope. I don't want to be left alone like Vincent Price or Will Smith after everyone mysteriously turns into zombies from bad coffee.
  4. I have heard people say that, but it's usually not in the context of trying to make it through a work day. And it's usually never in the morning. That's another thing that bothers me: ingesting coffee when you wake up on an empty stomach and having nothing to eat with it. The damage that it does to the esophagus and stomach is bad enough with food to go with it.
  5. Well, the majority of coffee drinkers that have been witnessed by me always seem to say some sort of variation of "I need my morning coffee". People don't go around saying "I need chicken tonight or else...". When the user is saying that they "need it" then it does make you wonder what is going on there. They are referring to it themselves as a necessity. Some scientists think that it is more of a psychological need than a physical need. I already wrote about that on here on another page. I tend to think it probably is a combination of both forces at work. If it is indeed addictive, then
  6. Hmm. Fascinating. If I ever got diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder, I would have to laugh and say "I do that to wake up!". I kind of realized that there had to be some scientific reasoning behind what I was doing.
  7. I'm not turning up my nose at coffee drinkers. I have been asked by your fellow coffee drinkers how I do it? I politely tell them that since I don't drink coffee I have never felt the need for it. So as someone on the outside looking in I was just curious how much people need it to function. Much like the people who drink coffee look at me and wonder why my hand doesn't have a cup of coffee. Only on here can a coffee discussion garner more controversy a day after an election. But yeah I can see how coffee drinkers can be analogous to people who grip onto their guns spouting off about
  8. And your posts have never dripped of condescension? I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels or thinks that way. Plus, you are trying to refute my claims by using an Urban Myth website that was last updated in 2005. Did they stop researching? Or are you trying to prove that it is foolish to ever use such information from these types of websites? Either way it is one team of scientists researching vs. another team.
  9. Well, since we are giving each other links I will share mine: PNF Coffee Pros & Cons & Diagnose Me: Caffeine/Coffee Avoidance. We have a PNF.org site, WebMD, Diagnose Me & Snopes (which was actually last updated in 2005). Next time I go to my Doctor I will ask him. We should all do the same. I'm sure that we will hear a wide variety of stuff. I stand by my sites and others like that that provide similar information. Is Snopes more reputable than either WebMD or Diagnose Me? It's tough to say.
  10. LOL. You have my stamp of approval. Although, you haven't clearly stated your purpose for drinking coffee. You hooked?
  11. Yes, but it is only a temporary stimulant that needs further intake to repeat the effect of the first drink. Caffeinated drinks have been long known to cause symptoms of dehydration due to increased urination. I'm guessing that you're a coffee and water drinker during the day, thus not feeling dehydrated. I know this for a fact because it used to happen to me when I would drink caffeinated coke during the day. The caffeine acts as a leech that grabs nutrients out of your system into your urine. Water does not do this. Osteoporosis hasn't happened to you yet, but there are studies that
  12. I'm not the one who is drinking coffee. If you quoted my 2nd sentence, you would have read where I said it is probably not the light that works for me, but not drinking coffee at all. Meaning when I wake up I am not instantly jumping out of bed and into a Dunkin Donuts' drive thru window. Do you really think that coffee helps people in the morning to be productive? Or is that all based in the mind? If some of it is indeed based in the mind, then I see no difference between drinking it and starting into a light to wake up. If it is based in the mind, then when people do not drink their morni
  13. Yes. I think it has to do with the pupils after being in a state of sleep for more than 8 hours or so. It seriously works for me. I look into a light and I'm ready to go. Or it could be from not drinking coffee everyday and then getting into a state of trying to drink it every time I feel that I need a kick.
  14. I am not a coffee drinker. I have tried it hot and iced. I don't care for it and I don't need the caffeine to be productive. If you need to wake up in the morning, you should seriously consider looking at a light for a minute. It wakes you the F up. It really does the job of clearing out the cobwebs. The problem is that folks can't sell that shit. Anyways, I have also cut out caffeinated sodas. I will only drink Caffeine Free Coca-Cola.

  16. Randy Moss On Waivers Wow, that was quite quick. I wonder where he'll land this time.
  17. Heads up: U2 comes to Baltimore on June 22nd and St. Louis on July 17th.
  18. Hmm. Odd coming from a Wilco message board. Queen Latifah, can you read this?!
  19. Hmmm. Interesting. On U2's Zooropa & Zoomerang tour they used to have an opening intro that had the repeat of the phrase "what do you want?" mixed in with the Beastie Boys' "What'cha want". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMneYa8gJBY It starts at about 2:45. Unfortunately, there is no video of that actual performance on youtube. The video that I did find is a collage itself, but at a certain point it uses the audio and video from the mentioned performance. Not a bad piece to use to at the beginning. Trivia: If you watched the whole video, you may be trying to place where you heard "

  21. Sounds pretty amazing.... :pirate
  22. Aren't you supposed to be at Game 3 man?!
  23. Sonic Youth opened for Wilco in June of 2003. Although, I think they only did a few shows together before Sonic Youth had to cancel due to a family issue. Mission Of Burma stepped in last minute at that Boston 2003 show.
  24. EDIT: There are some holes in openers, so maybe if I list them by date some people may be able to fill in the gaps. It's bugging the shit out of me. If there was actually no opener, then that's something that I would like to know. I won't list the Evening With shows that I saw in Boston & Concord for obvious reasons. Mission Of Burma (Boston Bank Of America Pavillion June 2003. Filling in for Sonic Youth) (Portland, Maine August 2004 State Theater) The Fiery Furnaces (Wang Center, Shapiro Gym at Brandeis University, Calvin Theater October 2004. Was it really 3 nights in a row with
