  1. Yes. "They rose from the ashes of Uncle Tupelo." Edit: You're probably going to find all of their albums anyways, so I would say start with Uncle Tupelo if you really wanted to. But you can't forget about A.M.
  2. "A kiss is all we need."
  3. Actually, both of them had porns made about them. It's kind of a funny thing that they never made one about Bush and Dick.
  4. Yep, you do. I realized while watching the playoffs that Brian Wilson is from the next town over from me in Londonderry, NH. Small world. Congratulations to the Rangers and their fans. How does it feel to beat the Yankees? You had the team to do it this year and you succeeded. Congratulations to the Giants and their fans. It's been a fun post season with no hometown team at stake. I'm sure Brian Cashman has the hammer next to his piggy bank to pry away Cliff Lee from the Rangers in the offseason. I'm also a bit upset that the Rays didn't get far. It's sad that the ownership is goin
  5. So who wants to break the bad news to mkaycomputer that he may have to pay $50 for a wrist band or an invisible ticket via a movement of a doorman's arm? I like the idea of wristbands because it seems to cut down on scalpers, especially if they are only looking for your name and ID. What I guess confuses me is the wording on their website using the word "tickets" and threatening to revoke anyone's purchase if they somehow purchased more than the 2 "ticket" limit. I guess it's kind of weird if they don't give you something tangible, after going through what sounds like getting an actu
  6. Almost 500 people going to the ticket window (whether or not there are 2 or 3 open) an hour or so before a show begins isn't hectic to you? What if people miss the show or if it gets held up because everyone shows up at the same time? (it might cause some people to get antsy and frustrated, even before they set foot into the place..not a good way to start out the evening.) And on top of that people have to walk up and show them a Government issued form of ID and then move to the back of the line to get in or walk in if the doors are already opened. I'm assuming at will call ticket time that t
  7. Regarding Bowery Ballroom: All Tickets Will Be Held At Will Call That Are Purchased Online And Can Only Be Picked Up Night Of Show ???!!!! That's going to be a lot of people waiting in line to get in. It's mentioned on the Wilco World website ticketing info. I'm not sure if it makes sense, especially if everyone will be getting GA tickets. It could be a bad scene.
  8. @mkaycomputer.........What you fail to address in your post is that you are paying $45 to see both Jeff Tweedy & The Autumn Defense (who will most likely join Jeff for the encore for more than a handful of tunes). That's not too bad in anyone's book. Think of it this way: the show is only $30. You are actually paying $15 for the shipping and handling of witty banter.

I really think that you have me confused with someone else on here regarding the Pixies. "The 2 worst experiences I had were at the same venue: Agganis Arena at BU. 1. Pixies in 05- This couple gets in front of me and my friend. We're in the front row of the 2nd second floor section. So these people obviously aren't in their seats. I try tapping the girl's shoulder first since she was in front of me. Nothing. Than I look for the staff to help out or at least do a nod to this not-in-their-seat-couple. More tapping. I try speaking but it's too loud. So I start blowing at the back of her head.
  11. Apple Cherry Blossom Short Sleeves Blues Simple Purell (Being Clean) Tigers (Shank Lost) The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of A Misbegotten Fool All of these are off the forthcoming Wilco album which I have thanks to my hot tub time machine. Wait until you all see the cover art on this one. PM me for MP3s.
  12. It's very easy to hide behind a succinct post that comes across as arrogant. Why don't you elaborate on it? Let him know how he doesn't know anything. Copy and paste it from your blog of choice. No one really knows everything. Not even the politicians, as evidenced by recent debates.

I wanted to address the above comment last week, but then the thread died down pretty quickly. I found it rather hypocritical for this person to tell me that I was reading into their post to believe what I wanted to believe. I'm sure that they read my comment in the middle. I guess that I expected the "you" in the above post to be highlighted to get the point across, but I'm not sure if they realized the hypocrisy there. Basically, it sounds like this person has devised a one way street to look at deconstructing popular culture issues of race when they come up, but when someone else does it
  15. I have always had this dream of meeting a beautiful woman on the train in Europe. We decide to explore Vienna for one night. We hang out and discuss any ideas that pop into our heads. The problem is that I have a train ride heading back that I have to catch by 6a.m. She decides to leave our fate in the hands of destiny. Then she tells me to meet back here in 1 year. Sadly, I do not. Although, I end up a mediocre writer that has a book signing in Paris where she decides to meet me 8 years later. We catch up and walk around beautiful Paris. I sense some hostility from her for not visiting her
  16. The Jeff Tweedy doppelganger (Michael Reilly Burke) just appeared on last week's Undercovers as an Irish gangster. It was funny to see the guy talk with an Irish accent and hold a gun. On that show, the support cast has a guy who reminds me of Pat Sansone. Carter MacIntyre And I can't believe that I never thought of one of my faves: Sam Rockwell. Oh, and a friend of mine who also works as a writer for the local paper looks like Pat. He's also a Wilco fan.
  17. 2011. The latest. Edit: Longer answer: one of the last Wilcoworld emails said that after the UK/European tour this fall that they would be back in the studio. It also mentioned that they wouldn't be back, until the record is finished and/or 2011. I would recommend signing up for the newsletter. It's easily accessible on the website.
  18. Happening not too far from Portland, Maine =
  19. This is one of the main reasons why I have never put my friend's band up on youtube: because he's never happy with his performance or one of the band members. I have too much footage that is going to waste. I respect his opinion and will not put it on youtube, unless if he gives me 100% backing. I use it to pretty much fiddle around with Final Cut.
  20. Ah, I miss playing my Beastie Boys bootlegs from their 1998 & 2004 & 2007 tours. I need to go dig those out of my closet. Sir Stewart, do you have any bootlegs prior to '98 where they play stuff like The Scoop, B-Boys Makin' With The Freak Freak, The Maestro, Shadrach and What Comes Around?
  21. Now remember when in Paris to say Oooh La La.
  22. Oh, I know her name. I've known it since Friday Night Lights. I just wanted to be withholding.
  23. Yes. Yes, I do. (goes to Google) Pretty bad, especially considering that guy on Facebook made an ill advised shrine to him thinking that Pat "F%$%ing" Burrell should f45k his girlfriend. "Carnal visit"? Hmm, you make it sound like he visited her by chance or by appointment. In closing: Derek Jeter has the best looking MLB girlfriend/fiancee. You can just simply type in Derek Jeter in Google and you will see Derek Jeter Girlfriend right above Derek Jeter Herpes.
  24. He clearly said "Rome AND Paris" not "Rome In Paris"....oh wait.... I guess that this truly answers why Jim Rome would be burning.
  25. Nope. I came across that link when I tried to find out which porn star he dated. I couldn't find the answer.
