  1. That book looks pretty amazing, Judy!
  2. Ouch, Crow! Be good to yourself and take it easy getting that healed! As for your birthday, have a wonderful blow-out (not your knee!) and celebrate wholeheartedly your existence upon this grand planet for half a century! Oh, the places you've been and the stories you can tell and the wisdom you've accrued! At 50, we know so much better what to prize and appreciate, and we see beauty in so many more things. Don't worry about this birthday...it's just a date, just a number. You'll continue being you. And you are uniquely wonderful and celebratable! HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
  3. I appreciate this, and so does Wilco HQ!
  4. Now I want to hear the story behind "Kathleen". I love Josh's music.
  5. With great fanfare, ribbon-cutting, and free (virtual) party hats, the staff of Via Chicago invite you to come over to the newly renovated, restored, and re-opened Via Chicago Tributes Forum. The purpose of this forum is to create our own tribute to Wilco, in the form of cd's containing our brilliant cover versions of their songs. Two have been made in years past, and each was a marvel of musicality, demonstrating just how talented some of our members are! It's time now to embark upon the creation of the third volume of our Wilco tributes, "I'm the Fan Who Loves You". If you are intereste

  10. Hiya Mart! Great to see you around these parts, and so glad you have that spring back in your step! Now I must go prune a couple of trees and plant a pretty orange-flowered vine. Spring is upon us, what a gorgeous day!
  11. Speaking for myself, when I like a band, I'm naturally interested in the personalities that go into it. That interest, however, has ethical limits in a medium that is open to the eyes of the world, as the Internet is. To gain some perspective, consider how you'd feel if the person under discussion was your brother, or sister. Or son, or daughter. Discussing their music or their art or interests is one thing. Discussing the details of their most personal lives is crossing the line. Everyone, regardless of whether they are in the public eye, has a right to a personal life that is private. We'v
  12. I hope you get your wish, Maddie, because your descriptions of your concerts made me want to hear them too. Wilco gods, are you listening?
  13. Hi all, I said this over in the Boston roadcase thread, and it bears repeating here as well: Happy listening, everyone. It's so terrific that not only do Wilco treat us to live webcasts, but they then share them again in the roadcase so that more people get to hear them. to the hardworking people behind these gifts. Those of you sharing these streams, please be sure to clearly mark that the source is a stream from the Roadcase, so as to clarify that it is a lesser-quality recording (Not, for example, high-quality mp3's such as the downloads to help Haiti that the band made available f

Some listeners won't care, but others would want to know. Streaming, by its nature,
  15. Not only is Carla beautiful and talented, I can speak personally for how kind and sweet she is. Back in November 2004, when I took my daughter Alissa to her first concert (in L.A. at the Wiltern) it was Carla & band she saw first, opening for Wilco. I remember watching Alissa's face then, and thinking to myself how glad I was that she was getting to see a woman rocking out so gloriously! I want my girl to know that the world is open to her & whatever dreams she has, you know? So that was satisfying. Alissa's evening went from exciting to thrilling when, two songs into Wilco's set, Jeff
  16. Oh, I couldn't agree more with the sentiment....but still must behave responsibly.
  17. I wish I had time to listen tonight, but alas, real life demands my full attention. Have fun listening, awatt!
  18. One way you could avoid this problem is by using two different browsers...you might use Internet Explorer, and he could use Firefox, for example. Or Safari, or Chrome or whatever browser you like.
  19. If they weren't smart enought to hire a bright, sophisticated Wilco fan such as yourself, Johnny, then all I can say is, you deserve better than them. I hope your ideal job shows up soon. COFFEE'S READY, EVERYBODY! That's something I was just thinking...how lucky we all are that even in this difficult, strained economy, and even if we don't necessarily have "spare" money for concerts or for traveling to them, here we are, still getting to bask in an incredible, hours-long concert! God bless Wilco for their love and generosity.
  20. Yes, this is no time to get all shy in front of your computer! YEE HAW!!!!!
  21. I'll get some coffee brewing, but I don't think they're done... ENCORE!
  22. We really are the luckiest and most spoiled of fans. Love you, Wilco!
